Hahahha! Solid advice. I actually listen to personas battle theme since they all sound amazing while saying gibberish so i can focus on my own words rather than their lyrics. Might try working with the black mages soon.
ohh and if you don't mind, listen to music when you write. helps a lot :) the words will flow naturally.
Now, here i am listening to some Black Mage and FF Piano Arrangements because of this board. lol.
The first half can cover what you want.
You'll definitely like A Place to Call Home in FF9. When you hear it, you'll instantly know it's FF9.

As the guy mentioned. Check the skies above. If you played ffx, its their version of To Zanarkand.
I understand. It creates that vibes. Piano brings the memories :) When you're feeling melancholic, it's best to listen to piano arrangement music. FFs won't betray you if you're looking for some dramatic air.
If y'all are fans of the Black Mages, you should check out Earthbound Papas, they're sorta like a successor band that Nobuo Uematsu formed after the Black Mages split
Theyre more on rock so its kind of hard to find a piano arrangement here.
Might want to check their version of otherworld too since we're on the ffx music.

"The Skies Above" is a really good Black Mages song. It's their take on To Zanarkand from FFX and it's really badass

cool. rock music with mix with a few touch of classic. don't judge me please. i know it kinda clashes. lol. but really like the ones with a mixture of two to three genres in one music.
