I guess so. We can't blame people for thinking with their wallets. Let's say I choose to think with my wallet. I'm sure I'll choose to pay for an original game over paying for a remake of something I've already played, no matter how much originality has been injected into the remake. It all depends on how much you have in your wallet and how many mouths you have to feed besides your own.

Lazy yes. But I think it's a good idea for them to go back to their roots. They stopped understanding what made RE what it is when they made 5 and 6, but started getting it again with the more recent titles. Their next orginial game better reflect on the experience they gained through the remakes.

Agreed. Especially when hype takes over. Some of em if not most just wants to think with their wallet cause that's what everyone else is doing. I don't really mind remakes. Even if it using an older idea, if they inject enough originality into it, it'll be a fresh new experience.

I don't think people these days are self-aware enough to know what proper discretion is. Most people are ready to throw money at the next new thing, whether its good, bad, positive, negative, constructive, or destructive. I really doubt people, en masse, even think of the words I just mentioned when they consume things. When it comes to gaming, not many people go that deep. But, Resident Evil 3 Remake. Relive the good ol' days, even though you weren't even alive during the good ol' days.

I agree with #8. If I want to learn/experience something from the past, I'll look for it (that's what the internet is for). But I don't agree that we're being force fed anything. I guess, MAYBE, some people get FOMO for not playing the next new game (remake or not), but for the most part, I think gamers are pretty good at exercise proper discretion. If they like it, they'll play it. If they don't like it, they won't play.

I don't think the gaming industry needs to force feed people recycled material. Curious people will seek. Content people won't. No matter what, recycling old ideas for profit is lazy. If you're gonna make something, why not make it original?

You're right about most of the youth, but there are still some who would go out of their way to play the original, with or without the existence of remakes. I mean, think of movies. If I were a kid who watched the new (and sucky) Jurassic Park movies, I would be curious about 1-3, seek them, and watch them. It all depends on the gamer.

But think of the majority of young gamers who will probably never know about the classics, if it weren't for remakes. Remakes give them a chance to experience what the older gamers experienced, in a format they're familiar with.

I guess I understand the hype for remaking classics. They sure do make money. But classics are classics for what they are. Resident Evil is a great series, but recycling old stories is lazy to me.

Love the Nemesis character model. They added more human characteristics to it, reminding you that it was once human. That this a man turned monster by other men. It's Resident Evil to the core.
