+Atk/-Res

Cain's recommended IVs are +Atk and -Res. +Atk will simply raise the amount of damage Cain can deal per attack, which allows him to take down more foes. With his already low Res stat, it can be safely used as Cain's dumpstat.

How to Use, Explanation

This skillset uses Cain’s weapon refinement for his exclusive skill Bull Blade. Giving him Atk/Spd Solo 4 will make the most of his offensive stats. The special effect from his refined weapon will activate with an ally within 2 spaces, meaning that if the ally is exactly 2 spaces away, both of these effects will activate. If you are building a cavalry party with multiple cavalry buff skills, Death Blow 4 would also work well as an A slot skill.

How to Use, Explanation

This skillset uses both Firesweep Sword and Life and Death. Life and Death in both A and seal will increase Cain’s overall attack power. He will have the power to OHKO almost any sword unit, and with a support ally to buff his stats, he will be able to take down non-sword foes as well.

We recommend the Special Effect type upgrade for Cain's exclusive weapon Bull Blade. When there are any sword, lance, axe wielding cavalry heroes within two spaces, he will attack twice when initiating combat. This skill is great when used in a cavalry team, but can go to waste when used in a mixed move-type party.

Cain is a close ranged physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat. On top of that, he has skills that allow him to attack consecutively when initiating combat and debuff the enemy's Atk stat.

Cain's Strengths

Extremely Powerful Special Effect Type Weapon Refinement

Cain's exclusive weapon, Bull Blade, allows him to attack twice when initiating combat, if given the special effect upgrade. It cannot activate if there are no sword, lance, or axe wielding cavalry allies within 2 spaces, but using him within an all-cavalry party will make this extremely easy to activate.

This weapon will also eliminate the -5 Spd demerit of his previous 5-Star weapon, Brave Sword+, and rewards him with +8 Atk.

Skillset increases his survivability

Cain can warp to an ally's side with Wings of Mercy, reduce damage taken from opponents with his special Escutcheon, and weaken the opponents with Threaten Atk. All of these can make him more durable in battle, so it is fair to say that he possesses main skills to help keep him alive.

Cain's Weaknesses

Weak to magic

With his low Res stat, Cain is rather weak to magic attackers. In particular, tome users and dragons with triangle advantage will give him a hard time. Be sure to keep him out of reach from mages and manaketes.

Mediocre stats

While Cain is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades in the way of stats, none of his stats particularly stand out. He can be difficult to find a good use for in battle, so unless you really like the character, there is not much of a need to keep him in your barracks.
