Shepherd Mission Walkthrough: How to Deploy to Neutralizer Test Site

You deploy to the Neutralizer Test Site during the Shepherd Zombies mission in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). Learn how to get to the Neutralizer Test Site and complete the Shepherd Act 2 final mission.

The Shepherd Story Mission is like the Dr. Jansen mission, where you'll be dropped down onto a smaller map with tons of Zombies. Above is what to expect so you can properly prepare before exfiling to the map.

There are a total of 4 different Tasks that will spawn in 4 different waves of enemies you must defeat.

Prepare Before Proceeding to Test Site

The Test Site Story mission is a very challenging mission that will require you to have a complete and well-upgraded loadout. It's best to take your time farming essence by completing around 5-8 Contracts before deploying to the coordinates.

Obtain Better Weapons and RGL

It's recommended that you have at least a Rare or above rarity weapon with a Pack-a-Punch II or higher upgrade to have a good fighting chance in this mission.

One of the most recommended weapon to bring along is the RGL-80. This can easily clear huge hordes or mercenaries and zombies alike, which is something you'll definitely encounter in the test site.

Equip Healing Aura

The best Field Upgrade out there when playing in a squad would be the Healing Aura as your Field Upgrade. You can use this to easily revive squadmates who are down. Equipping this will significantly increase your squad's overall survival.

If you're playing solo, which is not recommended for this mission, you can opt for other offensive Field Upgrades such as Energy Mine, Frost Blast or Frenzied Guard.

Consume Perk-a-Colas

Aside from good weapons, you must also take on perks in order to gain effects that will directly improve your character. For this mission, it's suggested that must at least have Jugger-nog, Speed Cola, Stamin-Up, Deadshot Daiguiri, and Quick Revive.

Acquire 3-Plate Armor Vest and Self-Revives

It's recommended to obtain and wear 3-Plate Vests, Self-Revives, and any Kill Streak item, which can all be bought at the Buy Stations found in medium and high threat zones.

It's also great to obtain other utility items such as the LT53 Kazimir, Cymbal Monkey, and Decoy Grenade to group up enemies. This is extremely effective in taking care of the huge hordes of enemies you will encounter during the mission.

Get a Pet Dog for Revives

Pet dogs are extremely useful companions that can attack enemies and revive you and your squadmates. It is absolutely recommended to get a Tier II or higher pet dog, whether you're playing solo or in a squad for this mission. To obtain a pet dog, simply deposit Chunks of Flesh in Doghouses located around Urzikstan.

How to Deploy to Neutralizer Test Site

Exfil Icon with a Star

The Neutralizer Test Site location won't immediately appear on the map after dropping into Urzikstan. Wait around a minute, then the exfil going to the Test Site will appear on the map as an exfil icon with a star.

You will be taken to a different map, where you and your squad will have to complete several tasks to complete the Neutralizer testing.
