Helicopters can be destroyed by explosive launchers while stationary in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Zombies. Read on to learn more about how to destroy helicopters and the best weapons against helicopters!
The best way to destroy helicopters is to shoot them while they drop mercenaries during the Aether Extractors contract. The helicopter is stationary while it drops mercenaries, which makes it easier to bring down, as there are fewer chances of missing your shots.
Note that there is only a ten-second window until the helicopter leaves, but don't worry; the Aether Extractors contract spawns at least 3 helicopters throughout the duration of the contract.
Launchers are the best weapons against helicopters as it only needs 2 shots to bring down one helicopter. It's essential to Pack-a-Punch a launcher though, in order to increase its damage and reload speed, as a non-Pack-a-Punched launcher will be too slow to take down the helicopter before it takes off.
You can obtain launchers by looting them from mercenary camps, particularly from the mercenaries carrying them.
LMGs are the second-best option for taking down helicopters due to their magazine capacity and stopping power. To add to that, LMGs can shoot moving targets without the worry of missing their shots, so you can shoot down the helicopter even as it's approaching and as it's leaving.
