The Fiercest of Foes - Tips and Strategy Guide

This challenge is one of the most difficult challenges in the game. It requires you to fight all the variants of the Lynels in the game while trying to survive magma bombs falling on you!

If you are having a hard time, here are some tips and tricks to make this challenge more bearable!

Know Where Each of Your Characters Spawn at the Start

Your characters spawn at different points at the start. To save time, you should arrange your characters based on which objective is nearest them.

We suggest following the recommendations below!

Suggested Routes

Character Recommendations
Character 1 (Yellow)	Choose a character that is able to clear two outposts quickly. They should also be able to assist Blue.
Character 2 (Blue)	Choose a character that is able to defeat a Fire Lynel effectively.
Character 3 (Green)	Choose a character that is able to go toe-to-toe with two Malice Lynels. Assign your most powerful character here.
Character 4 (Purple)	Choose a character that is able to fight an Ice Lynel and a Silver Lynel at the end. Assign your second most powerful character here.

Do Not Lock-on the Lynels

When fighting the two Malice Lynels, do not lock-on any of them. This allows you to see the movements of both enemies to better execute Perfect Dodges.

Age of Calamity Controls and Controller Options

Fight the Lynels Outside the Outposts

The small enemies inside the outpost are there to stun you and leave you open for attacks. Add this to the magma bombs that are present on the battlefield.

If possible, fight the Lynels outside the outposts away from the small enemies. You can then clear the outposts afterward.

How to Beat Lynels

Dodge the Magma Bombs!

This map will constantly bombard you with magma bombs. These will always target your last position so constantly move while fighting the Lynels!

Stock Up on Rods and Apples

We recommend that you stock up on elemental rods and apples before this challenge. The enemies here hit hard and they will chip away your health fast!

Also, some Lynels in this challenge are elementals (Fire, Ice, and Electric) so you can use elemental rods to your advantage.

Healing Items and How to Heal

Over-level All Four Characters!

We suggest over-leveling all four of your characters for this challenge - one of which should be able to go toe-to-toe with two Malice Lynels.

We also suggest all your characters be level 80 and above.

How to Level Up Fast and Reach the Max Level

Use Cooking

Since this challenge does not drop healing items, we suggest cooking recipes that promote survivability and increases perfect-dodge timing window:

Set the Difficulty to Easy

If you are really stuck and at the end of your wits, we suggest setting the difficulty mode to Easy. Enemies are easier to defeat and they do not hit that hard in this difficulty so the problem with the time constraint and survivability may be solved.

Of course, you can always change the difficulty back afterward!
