Canister Harpoons are a special type of ammo that allow you to attach Canisters to enemies. To detonate a canister, you must hit them with an arrow of the same element. Explosive Canisters can be hit with any type of arrow.
Like Rope ammo, they detach from enemies after a short time, but they cannot tie enemies down.
This weapon can inflict Acid damage, Frost damage, and Plasma damage on enemies. Elemental damage applies additional effects on their targets, such as dealing damage over time or making them more vulnerable to attacks. Certain types of elemental damage are also more effective against some enemies.
