How to Use Black Glasses

Offensive Dark-type Pokemon

Black Glasses increases the power of Dark-type moves by 20%. It is a great alternative if your Choice Scarf or Choice Specs is already held by a different Pokemon.

Yveltal and Galarian Moltres are two Dark-types that are prevalent in the current meta. These two are some of the premier users of the Black Glasses.

Black Glasses vs Choice Items

Sometimes you may wonder what the best item is between Black Glasses and Choice Band or Choice Specs.

Advantage Disadvantage
Black Glasses ・20% damage boost to Dark-type moves
・Can use all moves
・Only boost Dark-type moves
Choice Band or Choice Specs ・50% boost to Atk/Sp.Atk ・Locked to one move

The best option between these items will depend on what you want to do with your Pokemon's moveset.

If you're planning to only use one Dark-type move, then a Choice item will best fit your plans. If you want to use other moves beside Dark-type moves, then opt for Black Glasses.
