Attack Up and Speed Up

Having Geno in your party buffs your Attack and Speed which determines the physical damage dealt by a character as well as their action order, respectively. This can prove be very useful as you can get attacks off first and hit enemies harder.

Defense Up

Super Mario RPG Remake - Defend When Czar Attacks and HP is Low

Bowser's Ally Buff increases your party's Defense which reduces any incoming physical damage received from enemies. With Bowser equipped, your party can be more durable against enemies that mainly deal physical damage.
