The second alternate route can only be obtained when you get to Lv.3... Also, until you Lv up from Lv.2 you have to continue to hit Clawitzer to use the first alternate route. Hope that helps.
There is an alt route through the cave that the clawitzer is shooting at after the boulders are cleared.
