How to Equip Underbarrels

Unlock the Underbarrel Slot for Your Gun

Before you can equip an Underbarrel attachment for your gun in MW3, you will first need to unlock its Underbarrel Slot. To unlock this attachment slot, you will need to earn Weapon XP for your chosen gun by using it in MW3 multiplayer matches, Zombies, or Warzone.

Equip an Underbarrel via the Gunsmith

Once you have both the Underbarrel Slot and a compatible grip, grenade launcher, or masterkey unlocked for your gun, you can customize your weapon and add the new underbarrel attachment via the Gunsmith.

What are Underbarrels?

Offers Additional Aim Stability

Underbarrel attachments are primarily comprised of underbarrel grips. When equipped, these usually help steady your aim while in ADS, lessening weapon sway at the cost of mobility.

Also Offers Underbarrel Grenade Launchers and Shotguns

Aside from grips, the Underbarrel slot also allows you to equip an underbarrel grenade launcher or shotgun (masterkey). Naturally, these affect your ADS speed as they make the gun a bit more clunky, but offer alt fire modes that are highly effective in combat.
