Pull for Her If You Want a Niche Playstyle

Summer Moddey's kit is unique in the sense that all her skills revolve around her poison debuff. She becomes a well-rounded powerhouse of a unit who buffs herself while hitting hard multiple times if she manages to get her opponents poisoned, while also receiving significantly reduced damage from poisoned opponents and stealing a percentage of the enemy carry's ATK. If this type of playstyle interests you and you don't exactly play by the meta, Summer Moddey may just be the witch for you.

Try to Get Multiple Copies

Like with most other witches, Summer Moddey's true potential is only revealed after getting multiple copies and raising her rarity. Once you've invested in her quite a lot, she becomes a situationally very strong attacker and debuffer when things go her way. Additionally, her exclusive weapon increases the number of targets she poisons as well as strengthens its damage per turn. With it, her ATK drain is also enhanced, making it steal 30% ATK from the poisoned enemy unit with the highest ATK stat. If Summer Moddey manages to poison the enemy's main DPS carry, she'll make them hit for way less while using that stolen ATK to strengthen her own attacks.

Pull for Her If You're Far Into The Main Quest

Summer Moddey has to set up before she becomes effective, but when she successfully does, she is an all-around unit that can deal damage, buff herself, receive less damage, and drain the ATK of the opposing team's carry. PvP matches and late game quests tend to last longer, which is ideal for Moddey as this gives her more time to inflict poison on everyone and receive her bonuses. The catch with PvP is that you'll often encounter characters who hard counter Summer Moddey, like Nina and Merlyn. In PvE however, her 15% ATK drain (or 30% if you get her exclusive weapon) might look small on the surface, but that tends to add up when we're talking about the hard-hitting and overleveled opponents you'll constantly come across in the late game.

Pull If You Like Her Art/Story

Summer Moddey's story is set in a lake, which is usually a place where people relax and have fun while spending time with close friends and family. The problem is that Moddey suffers from a fear of bodies of water, and she can't even handle being knee-deep in the lake. As she tries to get over her fears, she encounters a cursed monster and gets stuck in an illusion of her late father and dog.

If You Like To Play By The Meta

If you want only the best units on your team, Summer Moddey may not be worth your roster spot or your diamonds. The problem with Summer Moddey is that she is mediocre at best when things don't go her way and her poison gets dispelled. Summer Moddey is undoubtedly a strong unit, but she has to set herself up for success by poisoning as many foes as she can. Lots of other characters can be just as or even more effective without requiring too much setup. Additionally, there is a large presence of characters who dispel debuffs, which hard counters Summer Moddey.

If You Haven't Gotten Far In The Main Quest Story

Summer Moddey's value in the early to midgame PvE modes leave much to be desired. If you haven't gotten far in the main quest, you might want to invest in other witches first to get farther in the game and earn more resources. The later stages of the game is a different conversation though, as she will be of better service to you in the late game when Summer Moddey can steal a percentage of a high level opponent's ATK stat, decreasing their damage output while improving her own offensive capabilities.
