The Spikethrower is a powerful weapon that delivers massive amounts of damage, especially when using Explosive ammo. They are best used against larger targets due to their high ammo cost. To penetrate armor, they must be thrown at full draw.
This weapon inflicts Fire damage on enemies, which causes the Burning state. The Burning State inflicts additional damage to enemies over time. Fire elemental damage is also more effective against some enemies.
This weapon can use both Drill Spikes and Advanced Explosive Spikes, which makes it incredibly versatile. It can be used to tear off components while dealing additional damage over time, and it can also deal tons of explosive damage in a single hit.
This weapon has a perk which increases its damage against enemies that are further away, and when upgraded, it also increases its critical hit chance. These perks make it a great Spike Thrower for long-range combat. You can increase the effectiveness of these perks by upgrading your weapon.

Probably the best spike thrower in the game. The Skykiller is a legendary, and has more slots for upgrades, but having both Explosive and Advanced Explosive Spikes is redundant; having access to Drill Spikes on the Vindicator is just too useful; they're so good at stripping armour and components, especially if you can knock a big machine down and just huck a bunch of drills into their components.
