There was also Kafka too who reran right before Jing yuan but since she’s DoT I didn’t press on it. Same with blade and black swan although you’d still use Kafka and swan on floors with their matched element for an easier time.

In fact, most people are now going for topaz because of the new fua team with ratio and aventurine so fire doesn’t mature much.

And again, I don’t think there is a need for a fire dps, at least not yet. Fire is always paired with something else so if you have that element covered your good. I still don’t see the comparison for topaz and Sam. topaz is a fua specialist so you’ll never use her alone on fire stages. The reason people didn’t pull for her is because shes pretty much hated a lot and not many invest in FUA. When hoyo relases aventurine and more FUA attackers she’ll get better regardless of Sam.

Again, it's all just me yapping about it, I absolutely don't think they did it for THIS purpose, but still it's a nice addition to topaz banners to sell more. Sorry for the ahh long comment, just wanted to give my point of view (I am not a expert business man so don't take my words seriously)

But in Sam's case, we still don't know his kit so there's uncertainty for those who are in need of a fire DPS, thus making them choose between getting topaz as soon to fill the lack, or wait for a unknown new characters who can be good or worse the topaz (unlikely)

And topaz is never used alone, she is a sub dps not a main, her most pairs are with dr ratio or other fua char regardless if the enemy has fire weakness. I don’t really get the comparison. They just didn’t want another DHIL situation is my guess.

I don't think this is the reason but still if they want to sell Topaz more this is a good move (to delay Sam). Again, I don't think this is the reason why he is being delayed so much, but it sure is a good adding to their market😉

If a great fire DPS (e.g. Sam) is going to be released, nobody is going to pull Topaz except FUA users and people who like her character. This makes her sells go more lower the more Sam's banner is near. If his banner is going to be further away, those who need a fire DPS (not really needed but still useful), will have more reasons to pull Topaz, hence, increases sells. (my interpretation)

As I said before I don't plan on pulling Sam but it's nice to know that if one day I'll really need a fire DPS there is a decent one l, that's all, peace😉

Sustains are very important as well as Pure fiction/swarm/gg and while you can clear with 4 stars it takes a lot of investment for most and especially casuals. Fire is not a good comparison when we have a lot of dps for the other elements it’s often paired with.

I personally will not pull Sam no matter how broken he is cuz I don't like me has but it would be nice to even know that there's a decent fire DPS nevertheless, is just nice, not necessary
