Not counting the other debuffs they bring Which would also allow the dps to shed 20% def in total rather then 10%. if they are using Genius of Brilliant Stars.

they have a point. Investment level can be different. For character can be amazing at low investment but end up not scaling as well at higher investment. for that happens all the times in these games.
