7 remake can hardly be called a hack n slash game. There are lots of jrpg elements incoeporated in it. And proper managemwnt of teams and abilities is also needed.

This guy gets it. It's just a matter of taste IMO, if you like playing older titles then any of the earlier FFs are still pretty good. But I highly suggest FF15.

Most (if not all) of the FF games have a unique plot on their own so there's nothing to miss out on the previous games. You can play the games in any order.
