Chapter 1 in ALICE Fiction introduces the main characters and teaches the player the mechanics of the game. Read on for info on how to clear each Quest in Chapter 1, rewards for Clearing Quests, and which party is recommended for clearing Chapter 1.
List of Contents
The game starts out with Story Quest 01-01 where you experience an error when logging into ALICE and see a flash of a woman calling out to you. You manage to log in, and a girl named Minato who claims to be your sister tells you that you have lost your memory because of the error. Shortly after, a monster suddenly appears and eats Minato.
This Quest gives you the first taste of the combat system in ALICE Fiction. It's essentially a scripted boss fight designed to get you familiar with how the panel breaking system works. If you're feeling like you missed something about the combat mechanics, this is a good quest to revisit.

Mysterious Monster |
Mysterious Monster serves as the combat tutorial boss. Follow the in-game prompts to take him down while getting used to the combat system.
You gain the power of a mysterious pocket watch and fight off the monster together with the raven-haired girl. However, it runs off before you can deafeat it so you try to chase after it. The girl warns you not to and tells you staying in this area isn't safe. So you decide to follow her to get some answers.
This chapter is when you get out of the tutorial and gain more control. Now you are free to check out the different Gachas available and check on things like Daily Missions for rewards. Before jumping into Chapter 01-04 we recommend checking out the other features of the game.

This early in the game, as long as you are at or above the recommended Power Level for the Quest, you can get through without too much difficulty. That being said, Neu is a good choice to counter the Earth-type enemies, and an Earth-type character like Lancelot, Qin Shi Huang, or Cleopatra is best for handling the Water-type enemies.
You are brought to the Discarded Data Institute where you meet the mysterious man who appeared when you first logged in. You learn this man, Soga, is the director of the research institute and the adoptive father of the girl, Neu. He expresses his hope for Minato's rescue and offers to help investigate the mysterious pocket watch, the Chronograph.

This quest has Water and Wood-type enemies, so it's recommended that you bring a party of Earth characters to counter Water and Fire characters to counter Wood.
While exploring the Waste Area with Neu, you meet Andromeda, a Folklore that belongs to the Institute. When she discovers you have no memory, she teaches you about Folklore. Andersen, another Folklore, appears and you continue your exploration together.

Baum Cocoa | Aqua Max |
This quest is very similar to Chaprter 01-06, just at a higher Power Level. It's recommended to keep the same party of Earth and Fire characters to exploit the weaknesses of the Water and Wood type enemies.
Andromeda and the others teach you more about Folklore and general knowledge of ALICE as you explore the Waste Area. You learn that, typically, Avatars can only contract one Folklore. The fact that you can form contracts with multiple Folklore and summon them at will makes you special.

For this Quest, you can proceed with the same party as the previous two Quests without much difficulty, although Shadow Rally is a new Dark-type enemy thrown into the mix. To exploit this Dark-type enemy's weakness, it's best to have a Light-character like Longinus in your party.

Hakuro | Shadow Rally | Baum Cocoa |
Aqua Max |
The boss of this quest is Hakuro, a light type enemy. Along with it will be enemies of the Dark, Water, and Wood types. Although it's possible to power throuh this boss with most high DPS characters, we recommend a party with a heavy hitting Dark character like Ushiwakamaru to exploit with Hakuro's elemental weakness.
Having a healer like Asclepius or Himkiko to heal is also recommended. Keep in mind that Light and Dark are weak against each other, so if your main DPS dark character goes down, the rest of the battle will be that much harder.
In the final story section of Chapter 1, we get a glimpse into the main protagonist's memories, although they are still memories from within the Metaverse of ALICE.
After receiving a call from Soga and returning to the Institute, you are suddenly hit with a mysterious shock that echoes in your mind and renders you unconscious. You have a vision of walking with Minato amongst falling cherry blossoms.

Hakuro | Shadow Rally | Baum Cocoa |
Aqua Max |
The final Hard Quest for Chapter 1 jumps up in Power Level quite drastically. It's recommended that you wait until you're well into Chapter 2 before attempting this Quest. It's best to use Ushiwakamaru as your heavy hitter against Hakuro, and support her with characters that can counter the weaker enemies.
Note: These characters are highly effective in this Chapter, but are not necessary to clear the story. If you can manage to get any of these characters, particularly the 3★ characters, your team will be significantly more capable.
Character | Type | Reason |
---|---|---|
Musashi
★★★ |
Atk/Phys |
• Very high phys./fire single-target DPS. • Extremely effective against Wood-type enemies. • Can convert panels with one Active Skill and absorb them for even higher damage output and increased damage against Defense-type enemies. This comes at the cost of decreasing her own Phys. Def by 20%. • Her Passive Skill boosts her own Phys. Atk if she's the only Attack-type Folklore on the field. |
Best World Memory: | The Beloved Hero | |
Neu
★ |
Atk/Phys |
• Resists the many Wood-type enemies in Chapter 1. • Self Buff Active Skills. • Good option vs. Earth type enemies. |
Best World Memory: | Can't Let Go | |
Ushiwakamaru
★★★ |
Atk/Phys |
• Can damage 4 enemies at once, making her ideal for taking out many enemies at once. • Debuffs the Phys. Def of multiple enemies, making them more vulnerable to her attacks at the cost of her own Phys. Def. • Another Active Skill absorbs her panels to decrease the Phys. Atk of enemies. • Her Passive Skill boosts her Phys. Atk if there are still four enemies on the field. |
Best World Memory: | Folklore's Day Off | |
Himiko
★★★ |
Recovery/Spec |
• Can heal 3 allies at once • Can reduce one enemy's HP Recovery by 50% for 2 turns and heal self |
Best World Memory: | My Dream Life |
