A Flower Mushroom is the best Rare Mushroom you can trade to the Mushroom Boy, since he will give you a Flower Tab in exchange.

How to Farm Rare Mushrooms

Trade Cheap Mushrooms to the Mushroom Boy

The fastest way to trade Rare Mushrooms to Mushroom Boy is by giving him the ordinary Mushrooms that you randomly obtain throughout your journey. Variations of Mushrooms such as Mid Mushroom doesn't count.

These Mushrooms are easy to find, and are cheap when bought, so obtaining any of the three rare items from the Mushroom Boy already gives you huge profit from what originally was an early game item.

Buy Mushrooms From the Health Food Store

Beside where the Mushroom Boy Shop is located, there is a Health Food Store that sells a variety of consumables. You can spend your coins here and buy Mushrooms at 4 Coins a piece, then head next door to the Mushroom Boy Shop to have them appraised.

With some luck involved, you should be able to get several Rare Mushrooms, providing you with better items that can help you later on!
