List of Contents
If you lose against a challenger, you will not be able to fight that challenger again... Normally that is. To have a rematch against that specific character, you have to go to the Challenger's Approach menu to fight them again!
The Challenger's Approach menu, once unlocked, can be found in the Games & More menu. It's a bright yellow door on the lower right side of the screen.
Unlike how challengers appear after your matches before giving you time to change characters, you can choose a specific character to use against that character. This can allow you to choose a more favorable matchup to gain the upperhand during the fight.
If you have failed to defeat many challengers, attempting the Challenger's Approach will queue the fighting order in accordance with the order they first appeared in challenges.
To unlock the next challengers, you will have to emerge victorious against the previous challengers first. It is impossible to skip the challenger's appearance order so keep on trying, and unlock them all!
To make the Challenger's Approach appear the first time, challenge a Lv 9 CPU after losing to a challenger the first time.
Take note that standing idly (going AFK) or immediately SDing will cause the timer to stop, so play actively during these five minutes.
Alternatively, if you have someone else helping you out with unlocking characters, it's also possible to do a 2.5 minute match with that person to release your first challenger in the Challenger's Approach after failing to defeat them on the first try.
The method to make the Challenger's Approach reappear is the same as before. Play against a Level 9 CPU for five minutes. Again, note that standing idly (going AFK) or immediately SDing will cause the timer to stop, so play actively during these five minutes.
If you have someone else helping you out with unlocking characters, it's also possible to do a 2.5 minute match with that person to make the Challenger's Approach appear in subsequent attempts.
If there are more players playing, the time required becomes even shorter. Play with more people to unlock characters faster!
