Reach Level 29 to Unlock Frost Blast

To complete the Act II: Tier 5 Mission - Frost Bite, you need to first unlock the Frost Blast Field Upgrade, as it is the required skill for freezing Mimics. You can unlock the Frost Blast Field Upgrade simply by reaching level 29 and equip it in the loadout screen before being deployed.

Spawn Mimics Inside Infested Strongholds

After obtaining the Frost Blast Field Upgrade, you need to locate Infested Strongholds in the Mid-Threat Zone, as this is the most common spawn location for Mimics. Upon entering the Infested Stronghold, destroy a couple of yellow cysts, and the Mimic will usually spawn somewhere in the stronghold. Use your Frost Blast Field Upgrade to freeze the Mimic, and it will count towards your mission progression.

Note that you need to freeze different Mimics five times for this mission. This means you might have to complete multiple runs of Infested Strongholds before completing this objective.

If you use your Frost Blast Field Upgrade on a Mimic spawned by a bounty contract, it will not count towards the mission. You can only use your Frost Blast Field Upgrade on Mimics found while exploring the map.

Locate the Infested Strongholds by looking the white icon featuring a skull wearing a crown on your Tac Map. These Infested Strongholds have a pool of potential spawn locations, but only a few are available and they are randomly chosen at the beginning of each match.

Group Up With Your Squad

Taking on Infested Strongholds can be difficult when playing alone, as zombies can easily overwhelm you if you're not careful. Ask your squad members to join you before entering an Infested Stronghold to make the mission a lot easier.

Recharge Your Field Upgrade

Given the long recharge time of the Frost Blast Field Upgrade, you'll need to eliminate the Mimic after using the Frost Blast, or it will continue to chase you while you recharge your field upgrade. Ask your team to assist you in clearing out the Mimic, so you can focus on recharging your field upgrade before proceeding to the next Infested Stronghold.

Wear a Gas Mask

You will be constantly inside Infested Strongholds as you look for Mimics to freeze. It is highly recommended that you search for a Gas Mask and equip it to avoid the damage-over-time effect caused by the poisonous clouds inside the stronghold.
