Part 2 - Bottle Grotto Speedrun (100%)

Getting to Bottle Grotto

Obtaining the Bananas

Estimated Time: 14:15 - 15:16

Once outside Tail Cave, go to Toronbo Shores and enter the house surrounded with banana trees located just below Tail Cave.

Talk to Sale and trade the dog food for Bananas.

Secret Seashell #3

Estimated Time: 15:16 - 16:17

Go back to the village and the kids will ask your help in rescuing BowWow (the chain chomp outside) from the moblins, so head to the Mysterious Forest.

From the entrance, go up, right, through the narrow path on the right, then up until you see patches of flowers with a moblin nearby. Dig the center spot for the Secret Seashell #3.

Piece of Heart #4

Estimated Time: 16:17 - 16:33

Travel northeast to Koholint Prairie, jump over the holes, and get Piece of Heart #4.

Rescuing BowWow

Estimated Time: 16:33 - 17:32

Jump to the northern part and enter Tal Tal Heights. Go right and enter through the door with a moblin skull on top.

Defeat all the moblins on the first and second room. You can use some Magic Powder to defeat them quickly. On the third room, you will face King Moblin.

Prepare a properly positioned spin attack, wait until he charges to the wall and stun himself before unleashing it, then quickly strike him repeatedly. He should be defeated before he can move again. Move to the next room and rescue BowWow.

Load your autosave then go outside.

Secret Seashell #4

Estimated Time: 17:32 - 18:16

Go back to the Mysterious Forest and head to its upper leftmost part. You will notice some fallen leaves on the ground where BowWow will react to. Dig the spot to get Secret Seashell #4.

Entering Bottle Grotto

Estimated Time: 18:16 - 18:40

Go up, then right past the phone booth, and enter Goponga Swamp.

Move up then keep going right while letting BowWow eat the plants. Continue until you reach an entrance surrounded by some plants and a rock. Proceed and enter the Bottle Grotto.

Bottle Grotto Speedrun

Obtaining the Power Bracelet

Estimated Time: 18:40 - 20:44

Head north and light the torches using the Magic Powder. This will open the door on the right.

Enter the opened door and defeat the two stalfos, doing so will make a small key appear.

Head east, hit the switch to lower the walls, head south, then perform a jump attack to hit the switch near the chest. Open the chest for another small key.

Move to the room on the right, jump your way to the northern room, then east to the room that has a locked door. Unlock that door and enter.

In this room, move the two blocks toward each other to make a staircase appear on the top right side. Go down the stairs.

Make your way to the left and climb the ladder at the end.

Head north to the room where you will fight a hinox.

Defeating him will leave a fairy behind and a portal to appear. Enter the room on the right.

Walk north then jump your way to the right side of the room and enter the door. Proceed to the northern room and unlock the door on the left. Enter the door afterwards.

In this room, light up the nearest torch so you can hit and defeat the two boos to make a chest appear. Open the chest to receive the Power Bracelet.

Obtaining the Nightmare Key

Estimated Time: 20:44 - 21:39

Go back to the previous room and make your way eastward using the upper side of the room. Open the first chest that you see for 20 Rupees.

Go right, hit the switch to lower the blue block, then hit it again to reach the second chest. Loot the chest for a small key. Hit the switch again so you can proceed to the right. Jump on the other side to land on the area past the red blocks. Enter the opened door at the bottom right part of the room.

In this room, move the center right block down then the other block left and defeat the pols voice first by throwing a pot at it. Next, slash down the keese then lastly, the stalfos. Defeating them in the correct order will make a chest appear. Grab the Nightmare Key inside it.

Defeating Genie

Estimated Time: 21:39 - 24:42

Back at the previous room, unlock the door on the right, and enter.

Use the pots around to defeat the enemies in this area, especially the two pols voices. After you defeat all the enemies inside, a staircase will appear so use it to descend.

Step on the platform to lower it down. Proceed to the left and lift the jar. Take it to the second platform to lower it down. Climb up the ladder to ascend to the next room.

Jump over the gaps to reach the locked door so you can use the Nightmare Key in it. Move to the next room, where you will fight Genie.

There is no faster way on going through the first half so just dodge and attack until you manage to throw the jar to the wall three times which will make it break.

During the second half, which will make Genie split in two, wait until he appears and quickly slash him twice before he disappears. Wait again until he reappears. Then, immediately charge for a spin attack and position it properly to make it hit twice. He should be defeated this time around.

After the battle, pick up the Heart Container that will appear. Continue to the next room and get the Conch Horn to complete the dungeon.
