How to Participate in a Chocobo Race

You can participate in a Chocobo Race on the Chocobo Race Track which is located south of Wiz Chocobo Post. This will only be available together with the chocobo rent after defeating Deadeye from Wiz's request.

Winning a race will reward you with a medal which you can use to customize your chocobo.

The goal is simply to place first in the race. Not getting through the checkpoints in the correct order or leaving the course may lead to disqualification.

Raise Chocobo Level

You can increase the level of your chocobo by just traveling on it. Increasing the level will give the chocobo stamina boosts and certain abilities!

Start Boost

Press and hold R2 when the countdown hits "2". When the race starts, there will be a special animation and you will obtain a speed boost.

Block Opponent

You can block your opponent's path by getting in front of them. If you are the one getting blocked, try to take back the lead by sprinting.

Raise Chocobo's Stats

Feed your chocobo at camps before you participate in a race. Feeding your chocobo with Sylkis Greens will make any race a breeze as it boosts all your chocobo's stats.

Sprint

Make your chocobo sprint by pressing the □ button. Maximize the use of your stamina bar by sprinting immediately at the start of the race.
