This guy deserves to be a lot higher than Tier 3. He is a beast at dealing with enemies that attack quickly, like Miasma Jane. Makes the fights a lot less dodge intensive and he interrupts combos with ease. He's definitely one of my most dependable characters!
Ben's after-off-Field Assist attack is key. So he can surprise Fire-pillar attack consecutively.
I never thought of a double Special Attack presses. He goes rocket-pillar or a spinning-pillar type of bear attack. THANK YOU!
It's Ben Follow-up attack so there's no problem of being a slow character haha
There is a hidden Special Gauge trick after Ben's block, press Special attack again after releasing the Block to unleash more offensive Fire Pillar attacks.
Ben's playstyle made me realize few things: Perfect Dodge and Parry will use fire attacks instead of physical. Always max out full Assist Skill, because his defensive assist is essential and will keep dealing Fire damage along with I-frames. max Special and Chain Attack as it always deal huge fire damage.
Ben has the best perfect tiered PARRY skill and survive the annoying giant mecha boss that keeps barraging RED signal attacks while waiting for GOLD signal attack to parry-assist. A perfect-parry will gain a blue life bar and it will never reduce his HP. Imagining it like YukasLegion2 the DarkSouls Parry-god for Ben's parry-style for the fun. It happens on Time-limited Battle Trial when it's dodge skill feels limiting and getting hit.
Ben deserves at LEAST A-Tier status, he may be considered very niche, but if you build him right, he can keep up with the best of them with little to no effort! I was struggling for WEEKS with Shiyu Defense Disputed Node Frontier Six, I used my main team (attribute disadvantage) and a highly recommended team of Soldier 11, Koleda and Lucy, the Rampant Brute would punch my lights out so often! Well I finally got around to building Ben up and swapped S11 out for him, I BEAT that mission finally!
Ben is so Meta at perfect defense assists, just press spacebar when he's off-field as the gold-star effect attacking you. He will land Fire attacks that can do Anomalies and Disorders very easily. Like comboing with Yanagi's electric attack. Another positives is he also can Daze with is slow but Brutal attacks.
Perfect counters show its golden outline aura on Ben if you parry at the right time. You'll hear a ringing sound effect before releasing the hold-skill.
Ben is Meta brute and Stun king
He may be a slow, heavy attacker. Ben do CAN hit Heavier Daze damage gauge as different as Lycaon's fast Daze damage.

I would say that he is comfortably S tier and not however low he currently is. He gives free 16% crit rate, deals extremely non-negligible damage, has very heavy daze, and is a fun, unique character for Hoyo. If you play him in a quick-swap team, he will shine, and it avoids his negatives like his slow speed and lumbering attacks. The main downside to other supports will be his lack of non-artifact attack buff and/or resistance shred, and his attacks can sometimes push enemies away.

True, but temporary attack buff when shielded and lack of everything else but ADV Def. But still Big Cylinder has it all for Ben's Base Def and additional crit when being attacked before using counter skill.
Bunny band is not on the list ? Much better than Identity - Base W-Engine ...
