Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist Overview
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is the sequel to Live Wire, Adglobe's massively popular metroidvania, Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. The game initially released on Early Access on March 2024; a month after the game was announced through the publisher Binary Haze Interactive's YouTube channel and social media pages. The Early Access period is set to last for ten (10) months until its ultimate release date on January 23, 2025.
The game is a direct, canonical sequel to Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. Set decades in the future of the latter game, it follows the protagonist Lilac's journey through the Land of Fumes. As an Attuner
with the ability to purify the corrupted homonculi roaming the wastes, Lilac sets out on a journey to save the ailing kingdom and bring the refugees to salvation.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist Gameplay
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a 2D sidescrolling metroidvania with a heavy emphasis on collecting homonculi to expand the player's arsenal of moves. These homonculi decide what moves and skills Lilac can use on the field, so the ability mix and match them in accordance to what is required is essential for a player's smooth progress. That is because unlike many metroidvanias and similar to its prequel Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, Lilac herself does not engage in combat. Instead, she leaves it to her homonculi companions while she focuses on staying safe.
Exploration is heavily emphasized in the game due to the existence of hidden collectibles and upgrades for Lilac. Maps are intricately connected through multiple entry points; some of which are inaccessible until Lilac gains access to certain abilities. In addition, there are hidden enemies scattered throughout the map which can provide unique loot depending on which enemy they are.
