Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Overview
Set to launch in 2025, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is an upcoming action-adventure RPG officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of HBO. Developed by Netmarble, it serves as an original addition to the Game of Thrones franchise, expanding on the universe established by the television series.
The game is set during the events of the show’s fourth season. Here, players assume the role of a customizable protagonist from House Tyre, a minor house in the North, tasked with defending their ancestral home, supporting the Night’s Watch, and convincing the realm of the looming threat beyond the Wall. Throughout the journey, players will encounter iconic characters such as Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, and even Olenna Tyrell.

Kingsroad offers players a choice of three distinct character classes—Knight, Sellsword, and Assassin—each with its own unique combat styles and abilities. Initial gameplay footage indicates the Knight utilizes a longsword with a "sophisticated fighting style," the Sellsword favors a more aggressive approach with a battle axe, and the Assassin relies on the speed and precision that comes with dual-wielding daggers.
The game is said to allow players to freely explore the vast environment of Westeros. Here, they can undertake quests and experience the brutal combat familiar to fans of the Game of Thrones universe.
