Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Part 2
Includes A New Monster To Hunt
Missed your chance to try the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta last year? Don’t worry—a second run of the Open Beta Test is confirmed to come in the first two weeks of February!
After the success of the first Open Beta Test, Monster Hunter Wilds is back with a second Open Beta Test phase, giving players another chance to test out the game before it officially launches on the 28th of February. The news was announced by the game’s producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, on a video on the Monster Hunter official YouTube channel.
The second Open Beta Test will commence in two separate periods; the first will run from February 6th to February 9th, then the second will take place from February 13th to February 16th. It will be available for players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, it will come with additional content that was not present in the earlier beta round, such as the ability to hunt Gypceros, a recurring monster from the series.
Character data can be carried over from the previous beta phase, and subsequently transferred into the full game once it's released. However, game progress will not be retained. Beta test players also get extra bonuses for participating—a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy that can be attached to your weapon or Seikret can be redeemed in the full game, as well as a special bonus item pack that’s sure to help out players in the early game.
"We’ve heard from many of you that you missed the chance to take part in the first beta, or that you wanted to play again, which is why we decided to have a second one," Tsujimoto shared. "In the meantime, the team is working hard on finishing development on the full game." Previously, the developers released a pre-launch community update through a YouTube video, outlining the changes and adjustments that they were working on to provide a better gaming experience. The second beta test phase will not, however, include these fixes as they are still in the development stage.
Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Happy hunting, Hunters!
