Regarding the alleged Switch 2 rumors in CES 2025, Nintendo has given a comment to both CNET Japan and Japanese newspaper Sankei that "these images and videos are not official" and that the gaming hardware that Genki is claiming to be the Switch 2 is unofficial and was never provided by Nintendo themselves.

In the recently concluded consumer electronics and IT trade fair CES 2025, accessory maker Genki made headlines for showcasing a supposed 3D-printed mock up of the highly anticipated next-gen console, the Nintendo Switch 2. The manufacturer also allegedly shared in the event to journalists and attendees that they indeed own a "real" Switch 2, as well as a release date.

Genki is an American hardware brand for accessories for electronics and video game consoles, with products such as controllers, portable SSDs, chargers, and the like. In fact, they even have a special page on their website for Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, with a highly detailed animated mock-up of the console playing on the page.

However, Nintendo themselves have not announced anything major about the upcoming console, and only that they will be releasing news about it soon. The only confirmed detail about the Switch 2 from Nintendo is that it will feature backwards compatibility with the Switch 1 and its games. With that said, the Japanese tech giant might feel the need to officially announce the console anytime soon.
