Details about the gameplay for the Okami sequel remain limited, but based on the teaser trailer, it appears the game will once again draw inspiration from the Sumi-e ink art style that defined the original's visuals. We'll update this article as more information becomes available.

If the sequel retains the core elements of the original, it’s likely to feature action-adventure gameplay with the return of mechanics like the Celestial Brush—a divine tool that lets players draw directly on the screen to interact with the environment and engage in combat.

    The Celestial Brush lets you:

⚫︎ Slash enemies with a swift horizontal stroke.

⚫︎ Repair broken objects or recreate missing elements.

⚫︎ Manipulate nature, such as drawing a circle to make the sun rise.

⚫︎ Summon gusts of wind or create new pathways.

The original game combines action-adventure combat with exploration, as Amaterasu, the protagonist, wields various divine weapons such as mirrors, rosaries, and swords. Players journey through diverse regions, from lush forests to ancient temples, cleansing the corrupted lands by battling enemies and restoring harmony.
