Tokyo Game Show 2024 Schedule: Everything Announced

TGS 2024 Schedule

The official streaming schedule for the Tokyo Game Show can be accessed on the event's website. Over the course of the four-day event, which ran from September 26 to September 29, 2024, a total of 21 programs aired. Of these, 13 were Official Exhibitor Programs, where developers and publishers announced new games and provided updates on existing titles.

Although most presentations will be conducted in Japanese, English interpretations will be available for the majority of the streams. Additionally, a TGS 2024 Preview Special will be streamed on the official channels on September 18 at 6:00 AM (EDT) for those interested in learning more about the event.

Tokyo Game Show 2024 Announcements and Exhibits

Ubisoft Japan Cancels Their Online Broadcast

At 6:00 PM JST, Ubisoft Japan announced the cancellation of their online program for the Tokyo Game Show 2024, which was originally scheduled for the 3:00 PM JST time slot on September 26, 2024. According to their statement, the event was canceled due to "various circumstances." The company didn't specify their reasons.

Their stream was expected to include key information about their upcoming title Assassin's Creed: Shadows, along with updates on Star Wars Outlaws, Rainbow Six Siege, and other previously released games.

Death Stranding 2 Special Stage Will Be a 90-Minute Show

The time slot for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Special Stage has been expanded from its original 60-minute time slot to a 90-minute show. It will still feature the game's visionary creator Hideo Kojima, as well as Daichi Miura (singer-songwriter), Kenjiro Tsuda (actor), Nana Mizuki (voice actress), Tomokazu Sugita (voice actor), Shion Wakayama (voice actress), and Nicolas Winding Refn (director).

Sony Will Showcase Monster Hunter Wilds, Astro Bot, and PlayStation 5 Pro at Tokyo Game Show

Sony Interactive Entertainment will be opening AMssive PlayStation booth at the Tokyo Game Show from September 26, 2024, to September 29, 2024. Included in the lineup of games are the 2024 smash hit Astro Bot and the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds. Several other titles will be playable at their booth as well, such as Atlus' Metaphor: ReFantazio, Konami's METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, and SEGA's Sonic X Shadow Generations.

The booth will also unveil the PlayStation 5 Pro to the world for the first time. Interested players can use it to play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth or Gran Turismo 7 to experience its advertised performance.

Neverness to Everness, Duet Night Abyss, Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium Will Be Participating in the Tokyo Game Show's Exhibition Area

Highly anticipated anime action and shooter mobile games such as Neverness to Everness, Duet Night Abyss, Strinova, Etheria: Restart, Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra have confirmed their appearance at the Tokyo Game Show. They will be joined by currently released titles such as Wuthering Waves and Goddess of Victory: Nikke in the event's exhibition areas.

Gemdrops Will Exhibit PICO PARK 2 and New Titles at the Tokyo Game Show 2024

Gemdrops, the developers of STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R, Kizuna AI - Touch the Beat!, and COGEN: Sword of Rewind, will be participating in the Tokyo Game Show 2024. Their lineup of games will include PICO PARK 2, which was initially released in August 2024, as well as new titles like Etrange Overlord.

Sony Returns to the Tokyo Game Show this 2024

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) will return to the main exhibit at Tokyo Game Show 2024 for the first time in four years, joining major publishers like Capcom and Konami. Last year, Sony only participated in the Demo Play area for indie games. Although it's unclear what Sony will showcase this year, many of their 2024 releases were already announced during a State of Play in May. Additionally, Sony has stated there will be no major new franchise releases before April 2025.

Tokyo Game Show Invites Indie Devs

Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2024 has invited 80 indie developers to present their upcoming games. Organized by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, the event will take place from September 26 to 29 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The entry period for the "Selected Indie 80" closed two weeks ago, and lists of participating studios have now been released.

Developer and Publisher Streams for TGS 2024

Aside from the Official Exhibitor Programs, which will be shown on the Tokyo Game Show’s main channels, there will also be separate streams hosted and presented by several developers and publishers attending the event. These include Bandai Namco, KOEI TECMO, and Square Enix.

Their streams will be shown on their own channels, separate from the Tokyo Game Show’s schedule, and will sometimes coincide with the latter’s programs.

Major segments from these publishers include the upcoming Atelier Yumia by KOEI TECMO, The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell, O Zemuria by Nihon Falcom, and Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake by Square Enix.
