Monster Hunter Now Season 3 Info Revealed!

Image

We’re well underway with Monster Hunter Now’s third season, which adds several new monsters such as Magnamalo, Rajang, and the Aknosom. The most important bit of news is that we can finally cook Well-Done Steak in the game!

The game will have another physical event exclusive to Japan, where players will hunt the Elder Dragon Nergigante. Find traces of the Elder Dragon in Shibuya on October 12-13, 2024! Moreover, other regions will have the chance to hunt down Nergigante, as an in-game event is planned at a later date. During the event, Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos will also appear.

More monsters and gameplay elements will come in the form of updates, with the next major update coming in December, so stay tuned!

Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals the Return of the Yian Kut-Ku!

Monster Hunter Wilds gets a beginner’s guide where most of the details have been summarized in one convenient guide! The footage explains the premise of the game, where the hunter and the Expedition Team are tasked to investigate the White Wraith. Moreover, the team is also tasked with rescuing Nata’s people, the Keepers, since they were attacked by this monster. The Avis Unit is composed of the player as the Hunter, Alma the Handler, Gemma the Smithy, and your partner Palico.

Players will be interacting with other units in the game as well, as they’ve already revealed the Astrum Unit, even if each unit is assigned a special assignment. Players will be exploring different regions in the game, the Windward Plains and the Scarlet Forest. Each locale will have different phases that shift the environment or dynamically change the weather: Fallow, Inclemency, and Plenty.

Image

While the Windward Plains has sandstorms, the Scarlet Forest is shown to have torrential downpours and heavy rains as one of its phases. Depending on the phase, monsters will be adapting to the environment and changing their behavior accordingly. Furthermore, some monsters will only appear in certain conditions, like the apex predators of the regions.

Image

While some of the monsters of the Windward Plains have already been revealed, the trailer also talks about several new monsters like the Arkveld, Quematrice, and Uth Duna.

The Arkveld or the White Wraith, is the game’s flagship monster and will be a focal point of the game’s narrative. It has chain-like appendages that it can use like a whip and was thought to already be extinct. More information is yet to be revealed for this monster, so stay tuned!

The Quematrice is a brute wyvern that spreads flammable substances and uses its tail to ignite them. It’s often seen battling smaller monsters for carrion. Lastly, the Uth Duna is the Scarlet Forest’s apex predator. It’s a Leviathan that only appears during its torrential rains. Using its own moisture and bodily fluids, it can create a protective veil around itself and moves at great speeds despite its massive frame.

Image

Similar to the Gajalaka in Monster Hunter World, the Wudwuds are Lynians that live in the Scarlet Forest. They can be seen around the area as they go around developing their own homes while adapting to the ever-changing environment.

Similar to the newer releases of Monster Hunter, players can use the SOS flare to call up to three players in Online Multiplayer. If you’re unable to fill the hunting party or if you prefer playing offline, you may call NPC Support Hunters for help.

Image

Revealed in the final part of the trailer, the Yian Kut-Ku returns in Monster Hunter Wilds. This marks its first appearance in the modern releases of the franchise. This Bird Wyvern has built itself a reputation for being the beginner monster and will most likely fill a similar role to be the monster to teach the game’s basics and mechanics.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be simultaneously released on February 28, 2025 for PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, pre-orders are now available, with PS players having an exclusive pre-order bonus of a Mini Artbook.
