Romancing SaGa 2 Returns with a 3D Remake
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, a beloved classic from the 90s, is making a return with a complete 3D remake. The game promises to capture the spirit of the original while offering modern enhancements for a new generation of players.
The game features a stellar cast of voice actors, including the iconic Nakamura Yuichi, who reprises his role as Wagner, the leader of the Seven Heroes. Yusuke Kobayashi, known for his role as Senku Ishigami from Dr. Stone, will join the cast and take on the role of the protagonist, Gerard.
Kobayashi and Nakamura got to play a sample of the gameplay, facing a powerful boss. Kobayashi played through a mineshaft area, defeating enemies and trying out the turn-based combat system. Nakamura took on a formidable boss, a huge insect-like creature named Queen. Although he came close to beating the boss, time ran out, but he thoroughly enjoyed the live demo.
The event also featured a mini-live concert by Kenji Ito, the game's leading composer, celebrating his 25th anniversary. The concert included the energetic remake version of Battle One, a violin-centered piece co-composed by Nobuo Uematsu, and another beautiful battle track.
Romancing SaGa 2 New Features
Difficulty Levels
The game offers three difficulty levels, which players can select from to match their preferred playstyle. The Casual mode offers a story-focused experience with less emphasis on battle. The game recommends the Normal mode for veteran RPG players, while the Original mode is for those seeking the challenge of the original 1993 version.
Prequel Stories of the Seven
The game also features the prequel of the Seven Heroes. Players can come in contact with the prequel of these heroes by coming in contact with the Memories of the Seven Heroes
scattered around the world. These prequels were not detailed in the original game and will only surface in the remake.
Music Option
Players can switch between the remake's background music (BGM) and the original version from the 1993 release. This feature allows new players to experience the charm of the original soundtrack, immersing themselves in classic tunes that long-time fans remember fondly.
Romancing SaGa 2 Available Versions
Trial/Demo Version
A trial/demo version allows players to carry their saved data to the full game once it is released. This version lets players experience the beginning of the game up to the first battle with the Seven Heroes, Kuzinshi.
