Elder Scrolls 6 Gameplay
Elder Scrolls 6 is the sixth Action RPG in The Elder Scrolls series by Bethesda. The Elder Scrolls games are set in the series' fictional universe, with each game taking place in a continent called Tamriel. The series features open-world gameplay, which lets players explore the game world at their own pace. Players can complete the main storyline, side quests, exploration missions, crafting missions, and other activities. Each game's world is filled with dungeons, caves, cities, the wilderness, and a variety of other areas to explore, as well as NPCs to interact with or receive quests from.
The Elder Scrolls series is most notable for its high fantasy elements and use of magic in the game, which set the tone for the games' role-playing mechanics. In the series, players can choose to be a warrior, mage, thief, assassin, or other class/races that each possess unique abilities and apperances.
Runs on Same Engine as Starfield
According to reports, Elder Scrolls 6 is built on Creation Engine 2, the engine Bethesda used to make and run Starfield. Speaking in an interview with The Telegraph,
The Elder Scrolls 6 is built on the same engine as Starfield Bethesda's Todd Howard said that while Creation Engine 2 runs Starfield, it was "sort of built for both" Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield. "Every game will have some new suites of technology so Elder Scrolls 6 will have some additions on to Creation Engine 2 that that game is going to require," he said.
Starfield is a game that heavily features space exploration, which means that Elder Scrolls 6's open world exploration and gameplay may be similar to Starfield's, if they use the same engine to run. Moreover, it could also mean that mod support for Elder Scrolls 6 could become a possibility in the future.
Elder Scrolls 6 Story
Could Be Set In Hammerfell (Theory)
A few years ago, Elder Scrolls' official Twitter (X) account posted an image of a map that had a couple of lit candles placed above it, along with a cryptic caption saying “Transcribe the past and map the future.” One of the lit candles is placed where Hammerfell is on the map, which could mean that the next game could be set in Hammerfell, home of the mightiest warriors, the Redguards.
In addition, the announcement trailer the Elder Scrolls team released in 2018 reveals a mountainous region in the game, which matches how Hammerfell is described in the game’s lore.
