Digimon Story: Time Stranger 2027 DLC Announced at Digimon Con 2026

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is set to receive new content in 2027, with early reveals including returning characters and recently revealed Digimon Referendum results. Here’s what was shared at Digimon Con 2026.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger DLC Confirmed Arriving in 2027

"Large-Scale DLC" Currently in Development

Digimon Story: Time Stranger will receive new DLC in 2027, as announced by Bandai Namco during Digimon Con 2026 on March 21. Development is already underway, with early details pointing to story-related content, the return of Aegiomon, and the inclusion of select fan-voted Digimon.

While specifics about the DLC remain unannounced, producer Ryosuke Hara shared an early hint at what players can expect:

"It’s a bit far off, I know, but I can’t tell you just what kind of content it will be just yet. However, there is one thing I can share, and that’s that [Aegiomon voice actor Mutsumi] Tamura-san will be working hard with us again." First appearing in the main story, Aegiomon is a Deity Digimon with a distinct, myth-inspired form, known for its calm, peace-loving nature and music-based abilities, and plays a key role in the narrative.

One of the hosts of Digimon Con 2026, Tsujimon, asked whether Aegiomon’s appearance, from a story standpoint, could imply "a parallel world, or in the future." Hara responded without confirming the speculation, saying, "What an excellent line of reasoning. A really excellent question! And that’s all I have to say."

Fan-Voted Digimon to Be Included in Future DLC

During the same segment, Bandai Namco shared the results of the 139th Digimon Referendum, a recurring official fan poll where players vote on which Digimon they want to see featured in future games and projects. Players voted from a selection of 35 Digimon chosen by the development team.

The top 10 are:

 ⚫︎ Gammamon
 ⚫︎ Loogamon
 ⚫︎ Kazemon
 ⚫︎ Gumdramon
 ⚫︎ Pulsemon
 ⚫︎ Herissmon
 ⚫︎ Terriermon Assistant
 ⚫︎ Meicoomon
 ⚫︎ Ludomon
 ⚫︎ Gekkomon

Hara said that "while not everything from the Digi Referendum results we just announced will be making it in," the team is taking into consideration "the world-building for this new expansion and future Digimon games," adding that "we will be partially reflecting those results" and that further details will be shared in follow-up announcements.

This announcement follows a steady rollout of post-launch content released as part of the game’s season pass, beginning with DLC Pack 1: Alternate Dimension in December 2025, followed by Pack 2: GAKU-RAN on January 22, 2026, and most recently Pack 3: Anti-ParadoX, released on March 11, 2026.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, and will launch on Switch and Switch 2 on July 9 in Japan and July 10 worldwide. For more info about the game, please check out our article below.
