Teaser Trailer Reveals New Pixel Art for Iconic Digimon
DIGIMON UP was officially unveiled by Bandai Namco Entertainment as a a new free-to-play monster-raising RPG coming to mobile devices. Announced at DIGIMON CON 2026, the game is currently in development for a global launch later this year.
The mobile title is described as "a Digimon journey that moves with your life," reinforcing the series’ virtual pet roots while positioning the game as an accessible experience for both newcomers and longtime fans. The announcement trailer also offered a first look at newly designed pixel art, while teasing features such as 3v3 battles and the inclusion of Digimon Cards and Digivices.

According to the official website, players will raise Digimon by feeding and training them to grow stronger, a system that echoes the series’ origins in virtual pet-style gameplay where overall treatment could influence a Digimon’s development and evolution. Digimon can evolve through multiple stages up to Mega Digivolution, with battles allowing players to test their progress.
As with previous titles in the franchise, building a strong bond with a chosen partner appears to be a key part of the experience. A pre-registration reward has also been announced, with Gekkomon from Digimon Beatbreak set to be available to players upon launch, as Bandai Namco Entertainment continues development ahead of the game’s planned 2026 release.
Digimon Maintains a Steady Presence

The release of DIGIMON UP reflects Bandai Namco Entertainment’s continued support for the Digimon franchise, which has remained active through a mix of RPGs, re-releases, and spin-offs over the years. That ongoing support is also evident in Digimon Story: Time Stranger, a story-driven RPG that launched in 2025 and follows a group of characters journeying through alternate timelines to prevent the collapse of the Digital World.
The game is confirmed for a Nintendo Switch release in 2026, and a major expansion DLC is planned for 2027. While details on the DLC remain limited, its announcement highlights continued post-launch support and reinforces the franchise’s ongoing presence across platforms.
