Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase February 2026 | What Games to Expect

When it comes to Nintendo Directs, part of the fun is trying to figure out what might show up. Fans always have their wishlists, but there are also some fairly safe bets based on what were previously announced or teased over the past few months. Looking at the calendar of upcoming releases, a few titles stand out as likely candidates for more than just a passing mention. Although we don’t know exactly what the showcase will cover, it’s reasonable to expect updates on games that are already on the horizon.
Typically, Nintendo uses Partner Showcases to highlight major third-party reveals or provide deep dives into titles that are nearing their launch windows. If a project is targeting the first half of 2026, this is the stage where it will likely appear.
The Duskbloods Release Date Trailer is a Possibility

FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods is at the top of everyone’s list. Ever since its debut during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct in April 2025 details have been surprisingly scarce. As a Switch 2 exclusive that has reportedly been in development for over seven years, the hype is massive.
If the game is still targeting its 2026 release window, this Showcase is the perfect moment to drop a release date. FromSoftware games command a massive audience; Nintendo will likely want to show off the game's PvPvE "Bloodsworn" mechanics to prove exactly what the Switch 2 hardware can do. Even a brief gameplay segment featuring the game's gothic combat would be enough to dominate the conversation post-show.
Elden Ring Switch 2 Port Needs a Redemption

Alongside The Duskbloods, there’s Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, the Switch 2 port of one of the last decade’s most talked-about games. We already know it exists on Nintendo’s hybrid console, but a Direct would be the perfect place to finally see it in action after being lambasted by critics and fans alike for its poor performance during Gamescom last year. The game was delayed due to this.
This Partner Showcase would be the perfect opportunity for FromSoftware to show off a more stable build. Even a short gameplay clip showing Shadow of the Erdtree content running smoothly at a locked 30 or 60 FPS would go a long way in restoring confidence for this massive cross-platform release.
FF7 Rebirth Switch 2 Port Could Make an Appearance

There is also a strong possibility that a Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth could appear. Square Enix has confirmed that the team, including game director Naoki Hamaguchi himself, is working on getting the second game in the remake trilogy on the hybrid console, and they’re exploring how to bring the third game as well.
Porting these titles has been difficult due to the technical demands and the massive scope of the series; however, Square Enix has been vocal about their commitment to making these experiences playable on Switch 2, especially following the success of Final Fantasy VII Remake on the platform.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Switch 2 Port Might Get Announced

Rockstar’s first Red Dead Redemption received a native Switch 2 port in December 2025, and that port included modern features like 60 fps support and other enhancements. That successful release naturally leads to a question about Red Dead Redemption 2, the follow-up that many fans consider one of the best open-world games ever made.
Although there hasn’t been an official announcement from Rockstar about a Switch 2 version, the fact that the first one came out and was supported with modern features makes it a candidate for at least a mention or a portion in the Partner Showcase.
More Updates for Previously Announced Switch and Switch 2 Games

Outside the potential for new ports, there are a handful of newer games that would be great candidates for more coverage. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is one of the bigger reveals from the February 2023 Nintendo Direct, and since it was recently delayed to 2026, a proper gameplay segment could reassure fans during the wait. Similarly, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales has a publicly available demo, but hasn’t had much visibility since September of last year, so a brief update or release window would fit nicely in a Partner Showcase. Other third‑party projects like Orbitals and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle have been confirmed for Switch 2 in 2026 and could get trailers or release details here as well.
The first quarter of 2026 is already looking exceptionally busy for Nintendo's new hybrid console, and this Direct should help fill in the remaining gaps. With Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly set to haunt the system on March 12 and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launching just a day later on March 13, the momentum for third-party support is at an all time high. Perhaps most exciting is what many dub as Capcom's "Resident Evil Triple Threat," which would see native versions of Resident Evil 7, Village, and the brand-new Resident Evil Requiem all arriving on the system this month.
By the time the Direct wraps up, we should have a much better sense of the third-party slate that will help carry Nintendo’s hybrid console through the rest of 2026.
What is a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase?

A Nintendo Partner Showcase is a type of Nintendo Direct presentation that focuses mainly on third-party games. These showcases provide updates on upcoming games from companies like Capcom, Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, and even indie developers. Nintendo usually hosts one to three Partner Showcases per year, depending on release timing and partner lineups. In practice, they tend to be shorter than full Nintendo Directs, but they’ve still delivered major reveals in the past.
