Temtem: Pioneers Now in Development for PC
A New Temtem Creature-Collecting Survival Spin-Off
Temtem: Pioneers is an upcoming spin-off of the hit multiplayer creature-collection RPG, Temtem. Announced by developer Crema during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase on April 10, this new project pivots from the original’s turn-based MMO roots to an open-world multiplayer experience.
The game blends monster taming with survival mechanics and real-time combat, drawing immediate comparisons to Palworld. However, Temtem: Pioneers differentiates itself by omitting firearms, and rather than fighting alongside their creatures, players take direct control of them during battle.
Over 200 Temtem and A New Challenging World

Beyond its genre shift, Temtem: Pioneers introduces players to "Downbelow," a vast, untamed region situated beneath the Airborne Archipelago from the original game. In this new frontier, Tamers must gather essential resources and construct shelters while exploring uncharted territory alongside their Temtem partners.
Players can discover and tame a roster of over 200 Temtem, ranging from newly uncovered species native to the Downbelow to familiar creatures rediscovered in the wild. Each species possesses a unique set of moves and stats designed for exploration, resource gathering, and navigating treacherous terrain.

As mentioned, Temtem: Pioneers departs from the original title's formula of being a turn-based MMO by opting for a more active, hands-on gameplay experience. Tamers can bring up to three Temtem into combat and switch between them instantly to chain abilities, dodge attacks, and execute powerful combos, with each creature offering a distinct playstyle.
Furthermore, the game allows players to brave the Downbelow either solo or alongside friends, offering a multiplayer experience where they can work together to "build settlements, explore enchanting regions, and discover new Temtem as a team."
Continuing the Temtem Franchise

Temtem: Pioneers marks Crema’s third foray into spin-offs, following the free-to-play battler Temtem: Showdown, which shuttered in 2024, and the "survivors-like" Temtem: Swarm, which recently reached its version 1.0 milestone on April 3, 2026.
Meanwhile, development on the original Temtem concluded in 2024 after the studio announced it would strip away live-service elements and monetization to focus on new projects. The game adjusted its economy to become free-to-play, transforming every item available to purchase using in-game currencies.
In a detailed Steam post in March 2024, the developers thanked fans for their support and expressed hope that the community would follow the studio into its future endeavors. Albeit labeled as a "dead MMO" due to the game being more "quieter" since the final updates, Temtem remains playable to this day.

While many fans have clamored for a proper sequel, Crema noted that it currently lacks the necessary resources to deliver an experience that meets either its own internal standards or fans’ high expectations. Regardless, the studio intends to sustain the IP through these spin-off titles, further expanding the world of its hit creature-collecting RPG.
Temtem: Pioneers is currently in development for PC and is available to wishlist on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Fans can further support the project’s development by participating in the game's ongoing Kickstarter campaign.
