Lies of P: Overture Overview
Lies of P: Overture: Overture is a prequel expansion for Lies of P, a soulslike action RPG developed by Neowiz games and Round8 Studio. It blends Gothic Horror elements with Steampunk aesthetics. The game follows P, a puppet on a quest to become human. Set before the main game's events, Overture explores the circumstances leading up to the Puppet Frenzy.
The prequel expansion transports players to the city of Krat in its final days during the late-19th-century Belle Epoque era. Players investigate a legendary "Stalker," and gather information as stories and secrets unfold throughout the game. As Geppetto’s Puppet, players' main mission is to explore the past after encountering a mysterious artifact that transports them back to Krat in its final days of grandeur. The choices made in the expansion will affect the past and present world of Lies of P.

Lies of P: Overture Gameplay
As a prequel to the main game, Lies of P: Overture serves as an introduction to the mechanics and systems you'll experience throughout the full game. Lies of P follows the gameplay formula associated with the Soulslike genre, as seen in similar games such as Elden Ring and Bloodborne. As such, combat is action-packed with a strong emphasis on precision and timing, strategic attacks, dodging, and blocking/parrying. Mechanics also include a system comparable to Bloodborne’s Rally, where lost health can be recovered by immediately landing counter-hits on enemies.
Do You Need to Play Lies of P Before Overture DLC?
Yes, It Is Required to Play the Main Game Before Lies of P: Overture
As Lies of P: Overture is a prequel to Lies of P, players need to have played the base game as well as having it installed. Simply purchasing the DLC will not allow players to launch and play it as is.
