Mario and Luigi Brothership Details How You Can Beat Enemies
Ferocious Monsters Await on Each Island
A new update on Mario & Luigi: Brothership had just been featured on Nintendo’s official Japanese website today, detailing new enemies, locations, and gameplay mechanics, giving players a taste of what to expect when the game launches soon in November. Along with these new reveals, Nintendo has given a few tips for choosing the best attacks and—Oh, Mamma Mia—how to "wreck" the ferocious monsters that await on each island.
These attacks rely on Quick Time Events (QTEs), requiring players to react quickly and accurately to on-screen prompts. So getting your timing and reflexes down to a tee is a must! Do note that the information shared was in Japanese, and these attacks may be called differently in the English version of the game.
Combination Attack Tips
In Mario & Luigi: Brothership, players will face off against monsters across various islands. Securing a victory will depend on how effectively players can use Mario and Luigi’s combined skills. One of the gameplay footages revealed shows the "Combination Attack" wherein Mario and Luigi can perform their basic "hammer" and "jump" attacks at the same time, forming a "Combination Attack," if the command buttons are pressed at the right moment.
"If you fail to input the buttons, the power of the attack will decrease, so the key is how well you can execute your normal moves as a combination attack," Nintendo shared. Additionally, if either Mario or Luigi is down, the input command will be a solo attack.
Brother Attack Tips
Nintendo also gave its tips on using the "Brother Attack," which are powerful moves that consume Brother Points (BP) and can significantly impact the outcome of battle. There are various types of Brother Attacks that can help players deal massive damage to an enemy—ideal for boss battles.
In one of the gameplay clips shared, Mario and Luigi are seen performing the "Thunder Dynamo," a Brother Attack where they take turns generating electricity from a machine before unleashing lightning strikes on all enemies. This move is particularly useful in dealing AoE (area of effect) damage onto multiple enemies.
"The key to fighting well is to choose commands and techniques that suit the situation," Nintendo said, "so be sure to keep this in mind!"
Is Mario and Luigi Brothership Co-op?
No, it is a single-player game
