Developer Kuro Games “Disheartened” By Disappointing Launch

Wuthering Waves developer Kuro Games posted a notice titled ;"Announcement on Wuthering Waves 1.0 Version and Future Adjustment Directions;" on the official website, apologizing for the ;"deficiencies and issues present;" during the game’s release, and for the negative effect it had on players’ game experiences.

“We have been working on optimizations and iterations for the current 1.0 version, and the development of subsequent version updates is also underway,” the blog post read. The post then detailed the number of pressing issues, and the steps to remedy them.

Get More Echoes In Chord Cleansing Event

Firstly, the Echo Development experience was grindy, and the inadequate energy materials, as well as lacking a Waveplates storage system. To mitigate this, a limited-time Echo material double yield event called “Chord Cleansing” will be launched in the current version. In the next 1.1 update, adjustments to the progression system to reduce Shell Credit costs for Echo development and removal of the Tacet Field’s reward cutscene will be implemented. Echoes and Echo development material drop rate will be increased as well. Then, a Waveplates storage system will be introduced in a future update.

The second point acknowledged the reward system errors incurred when recycling developed Echoes, where the Shell Credits obtained did not match the supposed total. In order to minimize the impact on overall game balance, Kuro Games announced that it “would remove all additional Shell Credits obtained unexpectedly as a result of this bug within 14 business days and issue compensations accordingly.” However, they failed to announce from the first instance, thus causing negative experiences for players.

“We sincerely apologize for our improper way of handling this situation and the inconvenience caused,” Kuro Games said. Thus, all eligible players (character created and mailbox function unlocked before 10:00 last May 30, 2024 (UTC+8)) will be compensated with a rounded-up number of Shell Credit based on the maximum amount of Shell Credit yielded through the bug, along with extra compensation to all players of one million Shell Credit.

Additionally, for the overall poor experience with the Echo system in its entirety, all Rovers will be compensated with 20 Crystal Solvents, with one Crystal Solvent equal to 60 Waveplates.

Mistranslation In Localization

On the error in the description of 5-Star Weapon “Verdant Summit” caused by a mistranslation, Kuro Games promptly corrected said description and issued a one-time compensation of five Forging Tides to all Rovers.

“As we endeavor to constantly improve the localization quality across different languages, we encourage you to provide us with your comments or suggestions on improving the localization and the experience of players worldwide through in-game feedback channels or our Customer Support,” they urged in their post, in a bid to improve the quality of the game’s localization.

Version Event Improvements

Next, on version events, Kuro Games said, ;"we are currently in the process of redesigning the rules and reward schemes for the upcoming events.;" In the meantime, ;"Wuthering Exploration;", a new limited-time special event offering new rewards and content to improve the gaming experience, will be available from June 13 to June 27. The event rewards are as follows: 800 Astrites, Morphable Elite Class Echo I, Morphable Elite Class Echo II, Premium Tuner, and Premium Sealed Tube.

They also announced the advancement of the updated timeline. Starting June 6 at 10:00 (UTC+8), other unreleased 1.0 content such as Yinlin’s Companion Story and Event and others will come out earlier than its intended date. Following the earlier release, Wuthering Waves Version 1.1 will arrive after server maintenance on June 28, 05:59 (UTC+8). Version 1.1 will include a new explorable area Mt. Firmament, new Resonators Jinhsi and Changli, and new boss Jué. As compensation for the sudden changes, players will receive 10 Radiant Tides.

Combat and controls such as those on mobile and controller support, audio and sound effect bugs, and performance issues concerning crashes and instability will be optimized accordingly as well in both the current version and in subsequent updates.

Striving For A Better Wuthering Waves Experience

To conclude, they said, “Apart from the adjustments mentioned above, we recognize that there are still many issues in the game that affect player experience. We are committed to listening to every single piece of feedback, continuously organizing, optimizing, and resolving these issues to make Wuthering Waves better.” The dev team then extended their gratitude to all Rovers for their unwavering support and will strive for the betterment of the game. ;"Since Wuthering Wave's official global launch, we have been disheartened by our inability to provide a high-quality gaming experience to all Rovers. We understand that continuously releasing better versions and content is our goal and mission, and we will always strive to uphold them.;"

Kuro Games has already given away numerous other items as compensation for specific issues, such as login timeouts, lag, overheating, frame drops, etc. The compensations for these issues include Lustrous Tides, Radiant Tides, Forging Tides, Crystal Solvents, and Shell Credits.

These giveaways are worth significant in-game currency and will allow even brand-new players to obtain a 5-star Resonator from the Novice Banner. That excludes the free 5-star Resonator that players can get from the Voucher of Reciprocal Tides, which Kuro Games distributed as a token of their appreciation for the players who have continued to support them despite their rocky start.

To claim these items, simply unlock your in-game mail and reach the point past where you first battle the Crownless.
