Sonic Rumble Finally Releases After Several Delays
Coming to Mobile and PC on November 5
Sonic Rumble, the mobile multiplayer party battle royale, is finally launching after being delayed multiple times. In a blog post on the game’s official website on October 15, 2025, SEGA announced that the "Ultimate Arcade Royale" is coming to mobile and PC on November 5.
The studio also released an announcement trailer, showcasing some of the game’s features. Additionally, SEGA detailed the major improvements they implemented after receiving critical feedback from their initial playtests.
According to SEGA, they added new features, such as the use of skills to stop opponents from their tracks, a Crew where players can team up and take on limited-timed events together, and new stages and game modes.
Furthermore, they enhanced the game's user interface and unified all mission and achievement content into a streamlined, single-access hub. Lastly, they updated and simplified the cosmetic and character progression systems, ensuring that every unlock was meaningful and impactful while simultaneously fine-tuning rewards and achievements to establish a clear, generous, and exciting progression path for all players.
Third Time’s The Charm
Sonic Rumble was first announced in May 2024, with the game initially slated for release between late 2024 and early 2025. Then, the game launched its beta/early access for specific regions and countries in August 2024, which was referred to as its soft launch.
In February 2025, SEGA announced the game’s first delay, moving its launch to Spring, and would be adding new content and features such as Quick Rumble, Rival Rank, and Crews. SEGA confirmed in April 2025 that the game would be released globally on May 8, 2025, and opened its pre-registrations.
Unfortunately, with just 8 days away from the target release date, Sonic Rumble’s launch was pushed back again due to quality concerns. This time, SEGA did not specify a release date or window.
The latest announcement of Sonic Rumble's release on November 5 marks the third time SEGA has set a launch date or window for the game.
