Slay the Spire 2 Confirms Release Delay
Coming in March 2026
Slay the Spire 2 developers MegaCrit has announced that the game will be delayed to a March 2026 launch "on a secret Thursday", citing several reasons such as personal life events and the need for more polishing.
"There is no single dramatic reason. Some personal life stuff hit the team (everyone's okay!), we kept saying 'wouldn't it be cool if...' one too many times, and honestly, the game just needs more polish to meet our standards," MegaCrit wrote on their official X (Twitter) and on their September Neowsletter posted on the first game's Steam storefront.
They have also assured that because they are "dying to get this [the game] into your hands", they will continue to share regular updates about its development, and thanked the community for their continued excitement and support. No, It's Not Because of Silksong

As a humorous conclusion, MegaCrit adamantly wrote that the delay was definitely not because of the release of another highly-anticipated indie platformer.
"Oh yeah. And don't blame Silksong," they declared in bold text. They further expounded on the idea in the newsletter, stating that the team got together to discuss the new release date even before the Silksong launch was announced. "The timing just worked out like that, but on the bright side, everyone can keep busy playing Silksong during the wait!" MegaCrit said.
