Slay the Spire 2 Gameplay

Similar to its predecessor, Slay the Spire 2 is a roguelike deckbuilder to progress up the Spire, facing all sorts of fantastical enemies and otherworldly bosses. The game features turn-based combat, with players balancing dishing out offense and building up defenses during each of their turns.
New to the franchise, the game will feature multiplayer co-op at launch, with teams of up to 4 players creating powerful team synergies, coordinating routes, and sharing rewards. The game will also feature multiplayer-specific cards to bolster and differentiate co-op gameplay.
Slay the Spire 2 Characters
The Ironclad

The Ironclad, the starting character in the first game, makes a return in Slay the Spire 2. This character specializes in stacking buffs to unleash devastatingly powerful attacks, as well as being able to tank damage and regenerate HP.
The Silent

Also making a comeback is the Silent. Swift and nimble, she makes expert use of cost-efficient abilities and attacks to overwhelm enemies with a barrage of blades and debuffs such as Poison and Weak.
The Defect

Last among the confirmed cast of returning characters is the Defect, a humanoid robot that makes use of a unique mechanic called Orbs. With these Orbs, he can zap enemies with Lightning, shield up with Ice, slowly build up power with Darkness, and more.
The Necrobinder

The first new character unveiled is the Necrobinder. Immediately introducing a brand-new mechanic, this lich can summon a giant skeleton hand named Osty to aid in battle. She can also inflict enemies with Doom, a stackable debuff similar to Poison that damages enemies at the end of their turn, as opposed to the beginning.
The Regent

Rounding out the selection of playable characters at launch is the Regent. Aside from the typical energy gained and consumed each turn, he makes use of Stars, a resource used exclusively for mechanically unique and incredibly powerful Regent-exclusive cards.
