As the livestream closes with the experiences and considerations of the two games, however, a surprise reveal for the Resident Evil franchise came out of nowhere from Director Kōshi Nakanishi.
"We're making a new Resident Evil," he stated. "It was really difficult to figure out what to do after [Resident Evil] 7. But I found it, and to be honest it feels substantial."
Unfortunately, that was the extent of the reveal, as the seasoned Director wouldn't provide any more details other than a confirmation of a new RE title in the works. Whether the upcoming game is part of the main series or a spin-off also wasn't clarified. "I can't share any details just yet, but I hope you're excited for the day I can."
