Marvel TOKON Fighting Souls Second Closed Beta Test Announced

Marvel TOKON Fighting Souls announced its second round of closed beta testing in a new trailer accompanied by a short interview with the game’s art director and producer.
Spider-Man and Ghost Rider will make their debut in this closed beta, bringing the playable character count up to 8. Two new stages, Savage Land and the X-Mansion, will also be introduced. Additionally, the second closed beta will include rollback netcode and spectator mode.
The closed beta will run on PS5 from midnight (PT) December 5 to 11:59 PM (PT) December 7, 2026. CPU battles will be available during the first 48 hours, while the last day will only feature online matches. Players who participated in the first closed beta will be automatically registered for this upcoming round.
Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows DLC Announced

Rise, Tarnished. FromSoftware announced The Forsaken Hollows, the first DLC for Elden Ring: Nightreign. The Forsaken Hollows is an expansion for Nightreign, which features two new playable character classes and two new bosses.
The new character classes include the "Scholar," described by FromSoftware as a "An academic who walks the Lands Between" and the "Undertaker," described as "An abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord."
The DLC also introduces an eerie new Shifting Earth, "The Great Hollow," described as "a great cavity in the depths of Limveld" with exotic ruins and temples, towers that denote the remains of an ancient people, and crystals that exude a cursed, life-draining miasma.
Players who pre-order The Forsaken Hollows will receive the Elden Ring Nightreign digital artbook and mini soundtrack.
The DLC is set for release on December 4, 2025, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Octopath Traveler 0 Demo Available Today

Octopath Traveler 0 features a new trailer for its demo coming later today. The demo lets players experience the first three hours of gameplay, including character creation, the Break and Boost battle system, town-building, and more.
Players can also transfer their save data from the demo to the full game when it releases.
Octopath Traveler 0 is set to be released on December 4, 2025, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Kyouran Makaism Revealed in New Trailer

Kyouran Makaism was revealed at this year’s State of Play Japan. The game is a new 3D action RPG from the team behind the Disgaea series. Previously announced on September 26, 2025, the game’s recent showcase highlighted its unique combat and summon mechanics
The game lets players turn their enemies into Familiars, creatures that can be commanded during battle. There are 16 Familiar types to fight alongside, which range from dragons to the Succubus. Alternatively, players can also turn their Familiars into weapons to use in combat.
Kyouran Makaism arrives on PlayStation 5 on January 29th, 2026.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect X Releases on February 12, 2026

BlazBlue: Entropy Effect X, a sequel to the original BlazBlue: Entropy Effect, was announced at this year’s State of Play Japan. The game will be a roguelike like the original Entropy Effect, mixing classic roguelike gameplay with the BlazBlue series’ stylish, intricate combo system.
Players will be diving into the Sea of Possibility as characters from across the BlazBlue roster, while character progression will be tied to two different systems: tactics and potentials. Tactics are universal upgrades available for every character that modify their movements and attacks, while Potentials are character-specific upgrades that enhance their signature moves.
Players who pre-order BlazBlue: Entropy Effect X will also receive a 10% discount and an exclusive in-game content pack during the pre-order period. The Deluxe Edition will include multiple color palettes for all in-game characters and the complete 91-track soundtrack.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is announced to release on February 12, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Wandering Sword Complete Edition Launches on May 28, 2026

The open-world 2.5D RPG set in Ancient China, Wandering Sword, is releasing for the PlayStation 5 as a complete package with all its previously released DLC. The Wuxia RPG boasts twenty different endings, all shaped by your choices in-game, and two different battle modes that you can seamlessly switch to: strategic turn-based or fast-paced action. Experience the story again, now with full Japanese voiceover performances.
Wandering Sword Complete Edition launches on PlayStation 5 on May 28, 2026, as a complete package including all its DLC.
BrokenLore: Unfollow and BrokenLore: Ascend Coming in 2026

The BrokenLore series announced back-to-back games in 2026, with BrokenLore: Unfollow coming in January 2026 and BrokenLore: Ascend launching in Summer 2026.
BrokenLore: Unfollow is a first-person psychological horror game that's themed around social media and follows Anne, a young woman who’s trapped in a surreal nightmare as she’s haunted by the trauma of her bullying. Players will rely on Anne’s smartphone to navigate through the darkness and survive encounters with dark, violent manifestations of her fears.
BrokenLore: Ascend, revealed for the first time in this year’s State of Play Japan, mixes the series’ classic psychological horror with climbing-driven gameplay. Set in a disturbing, macabre reimagining of Tokyo, players ascend an immense tower haunted by a Rokurokubi-inspired entity. The game follows Ren and Yui, partners who climb the tower in pursuit of visibility. The trailer showcases perilous climbs, unstable routes, and a fight to maintain physical and emotional balance through the tension.

New Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake Shows Off Thrilling New Footage

A new trailer for the upcoming Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake debuted at State of Play Japan. The trailer shows off the game’s haunting updated visuals in both gameplay and cinematic snippets.
The game’s director, Makoto Shibata, also joined the livestream to talk about the process behind remaking the 2003 horror classic. In the brief interview, he revealed that the game will expand on the original’s Camera Obscura. The remake introduces new mechanics, such as zooming, focusing, and filters, allowing for a deeper and more tense experience.
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake Digital Deluxe Edition was also unveiled. This version of the game will include a soundtrack, art book, and a deluxe bonus set containing in-game cosmetics. The Digital Deluxe Edition is now available for pre-order, while owners of the standard edition have the option of upgrading their purchase.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer Making a Return After 20 Years

The iconic racing franchise, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, will be making its long-awaited return to PlayStation after 20 years. The last title in the franchise, Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Drift 2, was released in Japan back in 2005 and in the US in 2007.
Players will be able to race through the streets of Tokyo in the upcoming title. The racer will feature a unique Spirit Point system, making races about willpower and resolve, not just raw horsepower.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer is slated for release on February 26th, 2026, on PlayStation 5.
Fate Trigger to Release for the PS5

Fate Trigger is a 3D Anime-style tactical hero shooter in Unreal Engine 5, showcasing its gameplay, playable characters, and areas in a new trailer today.
It introduced two playable characters and their gameplay mechanics: the attacker-type Fally, who uses clones to confuse enemies, and the defender-type Tata and her robot partner Bibi, with turret-placement abilities. A brand-new map called the Pale Blight Outpost features towering fortress walls, a dynamically changing terrain, and critical choke points filled with equally critical skirmishes.
Fate Trigger is set to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in the first quarter of 2026.
Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse Debuts New Trailer

Upcoming metroidvania Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse has revealed a brand-new trailer, previewing its roguelike progression system, varied environments, and dynamic combat.
While it can be played solo, Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse also features online multiplayer co-op for up to 4 players, as shown in the trailer.
Development Director Yasuomi Sakai also joined the stream to talk about how the game’s Possession system, roguelike mechanics, and bosses’ distinct behaviors make each run uniquely challenging.

Take on the role of a convenience store clerk and relish in every day’s little moments in inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories. The cozy sim will have players managing a store, as well as forming bonds with the peaceful town’s citizens.
The trailer revealed at State of Play Japan previews the game’s store management mechanics, branching dialogue, and collectibles.

DAMON and BABY Features New Trailer

DAMON and BABY unveiled a new teaser that offers more details about the 3D platformer, highlighting its varied mechanics across different areas. As part of Arc System Works’ initiative to expand the company outside of fighting games, the game introduces players to different gimmicks and systems as they explore an extensive world.
DAMON and BABY is set to be released in early 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
MotionRec Coming Spring 2026

Retro 2D puzzle platformer MotionRec previewed its innovative, time-bending mechanics in new gameplay footage at State of Play Japan. The game will have players recording and replaying their actions to help them escape rooms and avoid hazards.
MotionRec is scheduled to debut come Spring 2026.

Monster Hunter: Wilds Free Title Update 4 Releases December

Monster Hunter: Wilds’ Free Title Update 4 pits veterans against the returning Elder Dragon, Gogmazios, who was last seen in 2015. The update is also set to add new endgame content, weapons buffs, seasonal events, and performance improvements.

Dynasty Warriors Origin DLC Vision of Four Heroes Set for January 22, 2026

Blaze across the battlefield in Dynasty Warriors Origin’s downloadable story content, Vision of Four Heroes. The major paid DLC features new stories with the Four Heroes, new allies, weapons, and the return of the 1 vs 1,000 mode. A playable version of Zhuhe from the base game will be available in Four Heroes as well.
The Protagonist’s costume, the Yellow Turban Attire, is available as a pre-order bonus for the DLC. Dynasty Warriors: Origins Vision of Four Heroes is set to release on January 22, 2026, on the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds SpongeBob Pack Launches November 19 With Free Racers Coming Later This Year

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds provided an update, confirming the upcoming arrival of SpongeBob SquarePants to the circuit on November 19. Additionally, SEGA announced that the game will receive free post-launch racers, beginning with NIGHTS in December 2025. Following her are AiAI in January 2026 and Tangle & Whisper launching in February 2026.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game will also release on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2025.
First Digimon Story: Time Stranger Season Pass DLC Revealed

The first Season Pass DLC for Digimon Story: Time Stranger was revealed at State of Play Japan in a brand-new trailer.
The DLC will add even more Digimon to the base game’s 450+. Furthermore, the DLC will introduce a new storyline in Episode Pack 1: Alternate Dimension. Lastly, new Mega Digimon Digivolution routes will be added to the game in the DLC.
The Digimon Story: Time Stranger Season Pass DLC 1 is set to release this Winter.
PAC-MAN 2: Re-Pac Welcomes Sonic Today

PAC-MAN 2: Re-Pac’s latest collaboration brings Sega’s iconic Sonic the Hedgehog later today! The collaboration was announced on August 11, 2025, as part of a cross-collaboration between PAC-MAN 2: Re-Pac and Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. The DLC includes 3 brand new stages, a Sonic costume for Pac-Man, and 20 new figures to collect.
The DLC adds the South-Pac Island, which introduces three new stages inspired by the iconic Green Hill Zone and lets Pac-Man blitz through them at Sonic’s classic speed. The area also features a boss fight against Sonic the Hedgehog series antagonist Dr. Eggman.
The PAC-MAN 2: Re-Pac DLC is available later today for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Once Upon A Katamari to Receive 2 DLC Packs

Roll across time again as Once Upon A Katamari is set to release 2 DLC packs: the Katamari Damacy Series Dance Dance Remixes and the Katamari Damacy Series Neo Remixes. Each DLC pack includes five new remix tracks and ten accessories. To commemorate each DLC release, all players who own Once Upon A Katamari’s base game will receive a special set of accessories.
The first pack, Katamari Damacy Series Dance Dance Remixes, features remix collabs with the electronic music group DEN-ON-BU. The special set to be distributed to all players of the base game to commemorate this pack is called the Saki Hanami Cosplay Set (Prince only).
Once Upon A Katamari’s DLC pack, Katamari Damacy Series Dance Dance Remixes, launches sometime in November on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The release date of the second DLC pack, Katamari Damacy Series Neo Remixes, will be confirmed in an update later.
Gran Turismo 7 Adds Power Pack With SPEC III Update Coming Later This Year

Gran Turismo 7 adds the Power Pack with the SPEC III update coming later this year. The Power Pack aims to add more realism and hardcore racing to the Gran Turismo series, featuring a 24-hour race and more.
Additionally, series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi invited fans to The Gran Turismo World Finals on December 20 at Fukuoka, Japan.
Gran Turismo 7 is available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

PlayStation showcased a new and more affordable PlayStation 5 Digital Edition for a Japan-only release, along with other accessories such as a 27-inch gaming monitor with a built-in charging hook for the DualSense wireless controllers, and the previously announced Pulse Elevate wireless speakers.
The Japan-only PlayStation 5 Digital Edition releases on November 21, 2025, while both the PlayStation 5 gaming monitor and Pulse Elevate wireless speakers will launch in 2026 for Japan and the US.

Sony’s upcoming State of Play Japan presentation for November 2025 will be a special edition curated to highlight games developed in Japan and across Asia. The program will be hosted by prominent Japanese voice actor Yūki Kaji, known for his work in anime, TV, movies, and video games, including roles such as Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia, Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan, Koichi Hirose in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Meliodas in The Seven Deadly Sins.

Phantom Blade Zero Release Date Could Be in the Books

What is PlayStation State of Play?

PlayStation State of Play is a regular program by Sony that aims to deliver updates on upcoming and recently released games, as well as hardware and other PlayStation-related news. It is their showcase event, similar to Nintendo Direct and Xbox Developer Direct, that is pre-recorded and streamed online, featuring game trailers, developer insights, and sometimes surprise announcements.
There is no strict schedule for PlayStation State of Play showcases. It can happen multiple times a year, depending on whether Sony has anything major to share with the gaming community, whether it’s about their own IPs, indies, or other big updates.
