Monster Hunter Wilds Gameplay

Monster Hunter Wilds will have players take control of Hunters who are tasked with taking on quests with different objectives, mainly: Gathering, Hunting (Slaying or Capturing), or other Special Event quests. The game will follow a series of quests consisting of the main storyline, where players will be introduced to different monsters, quest types, and even different objectives that comprise the game's core gameplay loop.
After completing the main campaign, players can take on different endgame quests and monster variants to further strengthen their gear to take on even more serious threats. Throughout the game's lifespan, various Title Updates will include different monsters, new event quests, and special gear will be added. Additionally, the game will most likely get an expansion similar to the series last two releases (Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak), which will require players to finish the game's main campaign to gain access to the DLC.
Monster Hunter Wilds Reviews
The Series’ Best and an Uphill Battle Against Optimization Issues

Monster Hunter Wilds was praised as the best iteration of the series yet, bringing in new mechanics as well as an engaging campaign built around its compelling worldbuilding.
Here at Game8, we gave Monster Hunter Wilds a score of 90, highlighting the improvements it made to the series' action RPG formula, compelling story, streamlined progression systems, and more. The game did, however, have balancing issues that affected overall difficulty, as well as dialogue that felt cheesy at times.
The game has a metascore of 88 and a user score of 7.1 over on Metacritic. Most players agree that the newly introduced mechanics improved the series' core gameplay, with a few reservations about features that automated certain processes in the Hunter routine. On the other hand, many echoed their frustration over the game's poor optimization, especially on PC platforms at launch.
CAPCOM incrementally implemented optimizations and fixes through version updates, with certain players returning to the game as it improved.
