Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Receives New Quests and Weapons
New Challenges Await Zelda and Her Companions

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment received a new update which adds all new quests, enemies, weapons, and quality-of-life improvements for the game. Version 1.0.2 of the Zelda hack-n-slash released on November 26 and is the first update for the game since launch.
The most notable addition that Age of Imprisonment’s latest update brings are brand new quests for the post game, including three new battles. These battles are "Eve of the Final Confrontation," a battle with King Rauru, "In Search of Poes," a quest where Zelda gathers ghost-like creatures called Poes, and "The Struggle for Ash Swamp," where Zelda, Link, and the party defend the Ash Swamp area.

The new update also adds two new weapons to the game: the "Longsword of Light" and the "High Guard’s Spear." The Longsword of Light is a two handed that King Rauru granted the power of light to, and the High Guard’s Spear is a spear wielded by the King’s Guard. Both weapons can be randomly unlocked by clearing certain battles and can be equipped by certain characters such as the Mysterious Construct and Quino.
New enemies also arrive to Age of Imprisonment, specifically with "Vicious Enemy" variants for certain enemies such as the Bokoblins now appearing throughout the game. Vicious Enemies are more powerful versions of their normal counterparts with all new moves and abilities.
New Additions to the Sync Strike System

The 1.0.2 update of Age of Imprisonment also brings new additions to the Sync Strike system, which are team-up moves players can perform when a nearby character has their Sync Gauge full. The new addition is an exclusive Sync Strike between Princess Zelda and protagonist Calamo, where Zelda catches Calamo’s boomerang and does a powerful follow-up attack. This Sync Strike can be unlocked randomly after completing battles.
Players are now also able to perform Sync Strikes with allied Flux Constructs, which are companions that appear during certain points in the story, during battle. These Sync Strikes will scatter minor enemies, and target the Weak Point gauge of strong enemies such as area bosses.
These changes add on to what is already an intricate combat system within Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. At Game8, we gave Age of Imprisonment a score of 80 for its satisfying combat, fun weapon and team-up system, and substantial additions to Zelda lore. Read our review on the game below:
A Few More Fixes for Age of Imprisonment

Age of Imprisonment’s latest update also brings some welcome quality-of-life changes and bug fixes to the game. This includes letting the Mysterious Construct’s special actions be saved for each weapon type, and having health recovery be much more easily accessible through selecting "Special Rations" and "Battery" on the menu. Characters and weapons can now also be selected at the Tanagar Meditation Hall, a practice area for players to brush up their combos, and the Hyrule Map now displays tutorials and how areas are divided throughout the map.
As for bug fixes, some minor tweaks have been made to the "Construct Launch" unique skill to ensure that it always receives its effects. Furthermore, glitches and problems with camera control have been fixed for split-screen multiplayer.
