Until Then DLC Afterimages Releasing Alongside Xbox Port
Expected to Release "Soon" in 2026

Until Then revealed its upcoming story DLC, Afterimages, and Xbox Series X|S release. It includes two new chapters and explores the aftermath of the base game’s narrative, following the perspectives of the protagonist, Mark Borja, and the side character, Sofia Rubio.
As revealed during day two of the IGN Fan Fest on February 26, 2026, the DLC will also include new mini-games, such as tarot card reading and baking. The in-game phone apps were also expanded, with Mark shown swiping on a dating app called Matchy and Sofia scrolling through video reels on an unnamed social media platform.
The DLC for Until Then was first teased in June of 2025 through an image of Sofia posted on the game’s official Twitter account, with the caption "homecoming." While the developers stated that they are "not ready to share a date quite yet," fans should expect a return to Until Then’s world "soon," sometime in 2026.
A Continuation Of The Base Game

Until Then Afterimages picks up after the events of the main game and follows both Mark and Sofia’s college years as they process the grief and loss from their past. The former, now attending the university, "P.U.", is part of a team of students managing the concert Sparkle Night.
A yet-to-be-named character in the team draws Mark’s attention, and both are shown to develop romantic feelings for each other. The girl was also seen encouraging the team on the day of the concert, saying that they had to prove themselves, perhaps due to the concert’s failure in the previous year, as hinted by a line from another NPC.
On the other hand, Sofia returns home and seems to attend a different university. She is in a long-distance relationship with a girl named Alissa, who welcomed her back via call in the trailer. Underneath her happy exterior, however, she’s tackling the weight of a certain loss from the base game’s narrative.
Old and Returning Faces
Polychroma Games promised players the chance to reconnect with the old cast and encounter new faces in Afterimages. While their involvement in the upcoming DLC is still unclear, a few characters from the original cast already made a few subtle cameos in the trailer.
Ridel Gonzales, Mark and Cathy’s photography-loving friend, is now involved in the production of a movie called The Last Ray of Sun, according to a social media post Sofia reacted to. Ryan Soriano, who was Mark’s groupmate in the game’s opening story, has a signed poster hung on Mark’s apartment door proving that he was able to continue his basketball career.
Until Then Afterimages is set to release sometime in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. To stay up-to-date with everything we know about the game, check out the article below!
