Baldur's Gate 3's Shadowheart Most Romanced, Gale Most Played, and More Interesting Stats

Baldur's Gate 3, the critically acclaimed D&D RPG released by Larian Studios, shared infographics about player statistics. Read on to know more about player's choices in the game as well as milestones for Baldur's Gate 3.

Baldur's Gate 3 Reports Over 1.3Mil Players

Larian Studios reported that over 1.3 million players have successfully completed Baldur's Gate 3 since its launch. And a whopping 452, 556, 984 hours, or over 51, 662 years, of total playtime was reported.

Launched in August 2023, Baldur's Gate 3 swiftly entered the top 10 all-time most concurrent players on Steam. Likewise, as reported in August, the game accounted for 28% of all player time on Steam.

The game also clocked in approximately 158k playthroughs in the new Honor Mode. Honor Mode is a challenging difficulty setting implemented in Patch 5 of the game. Players who manage to finish the campaign in Honor Mode without dying will receive a special Golden D20 dice as a reward which can be used in future playthroughs.

Shadowheart Is Still Everyone’s Crush, Gale Is Still the Go-To Guy

Shadowheart claimed the title as the most romanced character in the game, with 51.3% of players reaching the final act of her romance arc. Gale remained as the most played Origin character, closely followed by Astarion. Interestingly, in the first stat postings on the game’s official community Steam page, Karlach was ahead of Astarion for 2nd place.

Paladin was listed as the most picked class, followed by Sorcerer. Among race choices, Elf took the lead, closely followed by Human. In Larian’s first stat posting, Half-Elf was listed as the most popular race.

Apparently, a lot of players holed up in the character create screen, with 94% of players reported to have opted for custom characters. These players have dedicated a combined 8196 years to the character creator.

Some other fun facts include:
 ● 14.4 million characters have been disintegrated into a pile of fine gray dust
 ● 1.24 million players have been transformed into sentient wheels of cheese
 ● Players have spoken to over 113 million corpses since launch
 ● Scratch has been pet for 48.5 million times
 ● Over 2 million players have survived a dinosaur attack
