Apex Legends and Gundam Collab Brings the Mech Series Over to the Hero Shooter
Gundam Commences Operation This March 10
Apex Legends partnered with Gundam to bring Mobile Suits and weapons from across the series’ history to the battle royale title this March 10. Along with a physical release of limited-edition GUNPLA model kits, this collaboration is set to drop Legendary cosmetics, skins, New Wild Cards, and more.
The Wildcard: Gundam Takeover event will take players to a renovated Broken Moon, which will house a field of destroyed mechs and climbable statues of the Gundam Wing. The event is built on top of Wildcard, a game mode that emphasizes more combat over looting for faster gameplay.
Nine skins for playable characters will be coming out, each Gundam (and one Char Aznable) being fitted to their playstyle, personality, and lore. Each is priced at 2,150 Apex Coins, except Char, who costs 1,300 Medals. The skins include the following:
⚫︎ Alter (Gundam Epyon)
⚫︎ Conduit (Gundam Aerial)
⚫︎ Crypto (Freedom Gundam)
⚫︎ Gibby (Xi Gundam)
⚫︎ Mirage (Destiny Gundam Spec II)
⚫︎ Octane (GQuuuuuux)
⚫︎ Revenant (Gundam Deathscythe Hell)
⚫︎ Valkyrie (Wing Gundam Zero)
⚫︎ Sparrow (Char Aznable)
Over to the weapons department, there are eight Gundam-themed additions, a few being based on the "Buster Rifle" Kraber, the "Destiny 99" R-99, and the "Aerial 301" R-301. Two Mythic weapons were also made for the event, including the Epyon Heat Rod and Beam Saber, both available in their respective Event Packs.

Two pieces of Gundam-inspired equipment can be picked up from Care Packages: the Buster Rifle and Bit Staves. To add to that, players can pick up the former to fly skyward for recon, scan through walls, and fire laser beams that explode on impact. The latter double as shields and patrollers, capable of scanning and attacking enemies.
New Wild Cards based on the Gundam’s abilities were included as well. Epyon’s Lash, Heavyarms Salvo, Zero Sacrifice, and Zero Rebirth all have unique effects that can turn the tide of battle.
Legends-Inspired Limited-Edition GUNPLA Model Kits

Three limited-edition GUNPLA model kits based on Apex Legends heroes will be released as part of the collaboration. All the kits will be scaled at 1/144 and will use the Real Grade (RG) models as the base, which are known for their mechanical detail and parts separation.
Each of the Gundam model kits will take on the palette of the playable characters, with the Freedom Gundam taking Crypto’s, the Wing Gundam Zero taking Valkyrie’s, and the Gundam Epyon taking Alter’s.
The kits will be available on the Apex Legends Shop or PREMIUM BANDAI while supplies last. Pre-orders will be available on their respective pages starting March 18, eight days after Wildcard: Gundam Takeover goes live.
Clamor for Titanfall

The announcement of the Apex Legends x Gundam event drew the attention of fans of Respawn Entertainment’s sci-fi mech-and-pilot FPS, Titanfall. Some found it insulting that the developer would add skins from another mech series before adding Titans to their own, especially when both share the same universe, making a potential appearance of these combat-ready suits lore-accurate.
Other fans took this opportunity to express their desire for a proper follow-up to the series. Several Titanfall projects were reportedly cancelled in the past few years, such as Titanfall Legends, the extraction shooter R7, and Titanfall 3, which had only been in development for ten months before focus shifted to Apex Legends, according to former developers of the project.

On the other hand, the announcement of its partnership also drew fans of the Gundam franchise, who were delighted to see more collaborations with their favorite IP. Other games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Overwatch collaborated with the series to bring Gundam-themed skins last year, with Apex Legends to follow suit.
Wildcard: Gundam Takeover is coming to Apex Legends on March 10, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, Epic Games, and the EA App. To keep up with future details of the collaboration and related news of the game, check out our article below!
