Best Sales and Award for Excellence: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet won the Award for Excellence and the Best Sales award during the Japan Game Awards held on September 21, 2023, due to the positive reception around the game and the number of units sold since the start of the year.
Being the latest mainline Pokemon title on the Nintendo Switch since 2019's Pokemon Sword and Shield, newcomers and longtime fans were excited to pick up the recent entry, reflected in Scarlet and Violet's sales even months after its release in November 2022.
DLCs Could Lead to Increased Sales
With the recent release of The Teal Mask DLC, as well as The Indigo Disk DLC releasing later in the year, there's still a lot in store for players and the consistent excitement around the game could lead to increased sales down the line.
